Its more or same CBRish figures of acceleration and top speed. I wonder where is the 30 odd hp and 30 nm of torque. I am not expecting it to be rocket speed. But where all the power is going

        Cheers,

I believe it is 27 bhp and torque figures at 25-26 nm... The specs have not been revealed yet.. so all these till now have been speculations

Mr. Goenka has given an interview to Autocar professional in which he has said mojo will be launching this September. Half the month has already passed but still no news about launch.

                As the horses mouth:
"I think to have two brands (referring to the Centuro and Gusto) for the company of our size is good enough. We will have the Mojo brand, which will not bring volumes for us. It will focus more on image and performance. We are launching it this month (September) and a long wait will come to an end. But to do 30,000 units per month, the Centuro and Gusto brands are enough, though we will have different displacements on offer. So we will have higher displacement models launching over the period of time both for bikes and scooters."

                Link to the page..

BTW has anyone had any news from any Mahindra dealers about the booking?

Mojo was expected to launch in festival season. So might postpone to November is the target festival is Diwali. When I asked some nearby dealers they said they have no information yet. I think it is accepted only at selected dealers.

It makes 27bhp which is tad faster than CBR250. The torque band is linear, making the speedo claim numbers uniformly rather than claim fast and then slow. So the ultimate thing is that the torque is huge, so even with luggage you can ride @100 kph speed easily and effortlessly around just 5.5K rpm than 6.5K rpm of CBR250 which gives a relaxed ride.

It is as fast as Duke 200, not even CBR250. I believe that is more than enough for touring and for a relaxed ride

The Mahindra Mojo is expected to be priced under Rs 2 lakh and the first 100 customers stand to get additional surprise benefits.
You know when a new manufacturer talks about "surprises" they are usually not of the pleasant kind...beta testing anyone?

Some are claiming that the 'surprises' will be additional accessories, like an additional screen, touring bags, engine guard etc. Moreover for building confidence, they are giving 2 years/unlimited kms warranty along with discounts in service charges I guess.

Yesterday, I had gone to visit Mahindra Showroom in Chennai. The one in Tambaram Sanitorium. When i enquired about the launch date and booking amount for MOJO(since all the news are claiming that mahindra has started taking bookings), I was surprised with the reply. One person was scraching his head and looked at his senior, the senior guy looked up from his work and said it will take 6 more months time. Another guy pitched in saying no no it will take 3 months time. They themselves were confused. I said there were news online about bookings being started, for which all of them were just blank faced. I can say i was dissapointed to say the least. If this is the situation in one of the showrooms in metro city, I wonder whats the situation in other cities where mahindra still doesn't have presence in. Either there are completely ignorant of the news or they are playing being dumb because they still don't believe that mahindra is going to launch the MOJO . On a side note i am wonder how great the service would be if sales is in this condition

Is it just me, feeling that all the so called promotional testers and promotional events for mojo are just being held at Bangalore and no other city(punee and gurgaon have also been spotted with mojo being tested). But majority of all the posts and videos of testing and also people who had got hold of riding these selected Mojo are from Bangalore. And I keep seeing posts about riding events happe ing in outskirts of Bangalore and no where else. Added to this people in Bangalore have only reported about booking of mojo too. Whereas dealer in chennai haven't even heard that something is going on mojo front. Why this partiality on other cities..
Has anyone from chennai have any experience. Just curious to know. I have started seeing bajaj and even benelli. Bikes in chennai at the same timeline as other cities as well. Was just expecting the same in case of mojo too.

Is it just me, or does anyone else find Mojo to be like Royal Enfields with some better specs?
                                The riding stance is Bulletish/Classic-ish
                                and Its high on torque

It's a lot like nuts and bolts - if the rider's nuts, the ride - bolts!
