Right Adarsh....I go mad when these blacked-out Dios with loud exhausts hover around me while I am riding leisurely...recently one of these devils missed me by milimeters. But frankly, Mumbai wasn't that bad...I feel B'lore cops are worse. I worked in Mumbai for 2 years and was in the vicinity of Andheri West, never faced an issue with cops. Anyways, that stretch was always chock-a-block, so no scope for such nitwits.Originally posted by Adarsh_Bk View PostLast edited by bbsrailfan; 04-17-2013, 07:25 PM.Biking is not about how many Km/h you put on your Speedo. It's about how many miles you put on your Odo. Ride Safe, Ride Long!

This thread and responses confirms my notion that majority of the riders in India are posers and in real do not deserve anything more than a Luna...even that is dangerous in the hands of these airheads. Imagine if they get a Duke 390/ Ninja 300 etc..etc... This does not mean folks riding 100 to 125 cc bikes are decent. They want to quench their lust for speed using their 100 CCs. I have seen 3 on one 100 CC steed riding like heads filled with cow dung. Some of my friends ride too fast while returning from office, but still end up taking same amount of time which a guy, read like me, riding at a speed of 30 to 50 K mph. Bottom line is Indian road conditions are absolutely not fit for any SBKs.

Haha. It'd be a win win for everyone. Unfortunately, the government cannot even provide good roads, they are far from providing ANYONE with race tracks.Originally posted by princesirohi View Postthis is bad, racing on public roads is bad,

I guess having a race track in each & every city mite not be an easy ground to achieve, but if we all start to put in some efforts in trying to come up with a track to race & practice, etc.., in just a couple of major cities in each state, it could be have a fair possibility to see it come to. Of coarse, someone will have to take the initiative as selflessly as possible to proceed with such a strong intention/plan. But this mite as well help in re-conciliating the minds of the broken & bring em to track instead of public places/roads, which can cause major issues & threats. We mite probably see us riding a normal, mileage oriented bike/scooter as daily commuting & bring up our beasts on the track for the thrill, experience & many other things. :P

Man.. it was way too amusing!! Was so refreshing to read it in officeOriginally posted by whymail View Postam glad that u found my rant to be amusing...
And you are a biker, any midlife crisis thoughts? Just take off on a road trip.
And good hear that you were unhurt in that incident, you never know when those kind of nitwits bump you in excitement! Infact there was a similar incident right infront of my house, three guys on activa, helmetless, didnt see speedbreaker at night.. all three airborne along with scooter.. but nobody gave them that much deserved slap!!
Good that you were safe!Originally posted by bbsrailfan View PostRight Adarsh....I go mad when these blacked-out Dios with loud exhausts hover around me while I am riding leisurely...recently one of these devils missed me by milimeters. When you think of it, indirectly Honda is getting the benefit from all this! No wonder their sales increased so much! These idiots plonk in K&N without thinking about anything other than sound.. engine goes bad in sometime or they'll totale the dio/activa showing motogp skills & end up buying new one!
(lets not discuss further, this is meant to be an example for out-of-box thinking, lol
)
Completely agree with you.. esp in cities. There was a funny incident once.. a head-filled-with-cowdung rider seeing my RTR simply rode rashly, I was in my own speed not giving a damn.. I dont know how, but at every signal i was ahead of him & he had to overtake me everytime.. it happened for 4 or 5 signals. I was LMAO inside my helmet & the guy seemed to be pissed every single time!! MORAL : Going slow helps you in finding the best possible lane to squeeze through traffic at signals.Originally posted by experimentalhead View PostI have seen 3 on one 100 CC steed riding like heads filled with cow dung. Hehehe...I have come across funny instances like that....couple of times happened with the same girl on an Activa...She was riding like insane, as if she was on fireOriginally posted by Adarsh_Bk View PostCompletely agree with you.. esp in cities. .
I dont know where the fire was.... and overtook me many a time and I was riding my Avenger, after a long hard day, like a cruiser should be ridden between 30 and 40 K mph, enjoying the evening breeze (whatever little breeze was there !!!) However, I ended up ahead of her at every signal and I could not control my laugh, and gave her a witty smile. She increased her speed and ended up right behind a heavy truck and I went past her and did not see her again...hehehe...Funny...

hmmnn.. when i said -"govt. should provide a race track in every city" it was said in a lighter vein ...however, what is needed is just an empty isolated land some 10-20 kms away from city and a road built like a track, thats it, nothing else, no podium, no stands, no ambulance standby, no nothing just a road ... a few kms length built in the shape of a race track, a tin shade, and 2-3 ppl to regulate riders/drivers, 2 security guards and put a nominal entry fee.just a thought.

Which Bike do you posses? If you go by the speed which you do.. any 97 cc is sufficient for your ride. Why are we seeing any bike above 100 cc on the road?? As per law 50 is the speed limit, which a bike like KTM/FZ/Pulsar/RTR/R15 etc. etc. have the capability to achieve in 3rd gear. In the real meaning of rules, we all are breaking one over speeding rule inside city everyday.Originally posted by experimentalhead View PostThis thread and responses confirms my notion that majority of the riders in India are posers and in real do not deserve anything more than a Luna...even that is dangerous in the hands of these airheads. If I remember correctly you have a saddlesore thread.. That is more illegal act than the ones these guys were involved in.
14 arrested, atleast one will come up on xbhp once cleared! Hope he clarifies and provide us an account of what actually happened.Last edited by muztariq; 04-18-2013, 01:23 AM.

Not only on public roads, but racing anywhere is bad, except tracks. I mean why? What to prove? No is gonna be a Rossi, or a Marquez by being one. And when they lose their lives, they blame it on bike and the general scene is the entire biker community is smeared.Originally posted by princesirohi View Postthis is bad, racing on public roads is bad,

It's a lesson for these kids to learn and for others.
Cheers!

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
The girl said, 'NO!'
And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.
THE END

its an irony how earlier bad road caused accidents now good roads cause them..Originally posted by NewsReaper View Post
This is a major problem which exists across the country. It is difficult for the police to keep checks on every road in the country. Such riders give bikers in general a bad name. When in the process of nabbing or stopping these people, if they get injured then the cops have to pay the brunt of mob fury.
It is therefore necessary to talk to and help educate youngsters in channeling their energies and resources into something constructive, if not such mindless losses will continue to happen.Agar aap Jaag Rahe hai to So Jaiye kyonki raat ke sannate ko chirti aa rahi hai SANSANI...star news par har raat aath baje

Very true, and dont know why, but recently, cops pulled me over at mulund-thane bride signal, gandhingar (Kanjurmarg), 100 metres after the signal going towards ghatkopar, and finally at ghatkopar shreyas cinema signal (yes all in one day), and what they did was, demanded my license and the bike papers to be shown, i did so, and then took down my name and address, mob number etc. Finally at ghatkopar, i asked the pandu, "why am i being pulled over? its the 3rd time in a single day" he said, "because you look like a racer, such an expensive helmet, riding jacket, gloves, such a bike (Impulse) etc." I was shaken, 1st they catch you if you dont wear a helmet then they catch you for wearing safety gears, we bikers are confused like hell man. And yes, i was also pulled over once for dongling headsets, i saw a pandu looking at me froom the other end of the signal, so i somehow removed the tiny ipod shuffle from the headets and rode, he pulled me over and i said "the headsets are not connected to anything, look, i have just put it in my ears as i have sinusitis and if wind goes in my ears, i get sneezing n catch cold very easily, i was born with this problem in my body" and made a puppy face, and he let me go, and i was laughing as soon as i came ahead of him. lolOriginally posted by whymail View Postmumbai police's point of view about riders:
1. every motorcycle rider is a thief or a chain-snatcher!
2. motorcycle rider not wearing a helmet? penalize him for chai+pani
3. motorcycle rider wearing full riding gear? penalize him for chai+pani & illegit racing [what is legit racing anyway? they've no clue]
4. motorcycle rider having any form of wire dangling out of his helmet? penalize him for chai+pani & for committing the offense of listening to music while riding
5. more than 2 motorcycle riders, riding in a perfectly disciplined group / formation riding? penalize them for chai+pani & earn brownie points for apprehending a bunch of 'about-to-begin-race' riders!
6. more than 2 motorcycle riders, wearing full riding gear enjoying a cutting-chai @ road-side tapri? the've just completed a race &/or have robbed a bank! penalize them anyway!
7. any & all of the above, if done by a girl? ogle / stare as much as u can @ her wobbling t|ts as if u were seeing a T-rex alive for the first time in ur life & simply let her ride by!
now on a more serious note, i.m.h.o., racing on the streets is something done only by nitwits & nincompoops!
any rider, who's done any form of real riding, knows 4 things by heart:
- respect ur ride
- respect urs & everybody else's life
- respect the law of the land
- its the journey that matters, often more so, than the destination itself
(if they were truly guilty of the crime) these nitwits should be bare-ass whipped so that their butt hurts everytime they saddle their ride & they remember that they cud have not only killed themselves but also killed someone else too!
raascalaaaa! X-(Not all who wander are Lost
Respect the bicycle riders, they are the ones who save fuel for you rides.
