Re: Triumph Motorcycles Launch 10 motorcycles in India : Price, specs and more
A triple is supposed to give the riders best of both worlds(Twin and inline four). It has sufficient torque at lower rpms(like a twin) and enough high rpm thrills as that of an I4. So a versatile engine. Though I should add that today's high tech twins have enough muscle at higher rpms to compete with an I4 on an even keel(case in point being the new panigale). THe I4s are no longer slouches low down as they used to be with decent low and mid range juice(for eg the fireblade).Originally posted by prateek95 View Postis there any special diffrence in sound of engine because it is a inline three, any advantages than a standard inline four??? can someone throw light on this?

Many will be looking for this chart now!
I think compression ratio for new n650 is less than 11.(10.8 or so)
though power figures are almost similar, how they translate on road may vary.
biggest difference in engine is that Bonnie is an air cooled bike.
I think we should not compare these bikes actually

Since you are in Bangalore, you shouldn't be worried!
Thanks. I thought that Delhi was going to be one of them too. Do we have any official/unofficial information regarding the delivery times of bikes? I'm specifically interested in Street Triple. It'll be a dream come true if they do on-spot delivery in Bangalore.

Since you are in Bangalore, you shouldn't be worried!Just to put it on record,
Triumph will have 9 dealerships across India by the end of this fiscal year. This will be achieved in 2 phases. The first phase will see dealerships opening in Bangalore and Hyderabad in December. Triumph Delhi and Mumbai dealerships will be opening by January 2014.
Bookings will start by second week of December for all the bikes and the deliveries will start by first week of January.

Its price is 11.4L ES. D675 ABS(SE) wasn't talked about anywhere by triumph. Also, only 675R was showcased at the launch. If the D675 ABS is launched, it'd be priced between 10 and 10.5L looking at the US price.

However.. I have a curious query regarding the same.
The Indian version of Triumph Motorcycles enlist two 675's in the catalog. One being the 675R and other being the 675 ABS. When I dug a little deep, I found a page called 'Help me choose' .. which basically compares the different models of Triumph catalog among themselves. This page has options to compare the 675 ABS with 675 R .. Now the confusion.
...
Is 675 ABS is the std 675 and 675 R is the one with track ready goodies. Comparing the two one can see the obvious differences these two models have. So are the Std 675 and 675R models listed here with their names as 675 ABS and 675 R. Definitely, these two are not the same models and AFAIK there are only two versions of 675 Daytona... 675 Std/(675) and 675 R.
The UK site also has exactly the same 675 ABS models featured and they had the 675 R ABS mentioned in place of 675 R as on Indian site, though both are exactly the same when compared.
Also if this analogy is correct then is the price quoted for 675 models is for 675 ABS/675 std or for 675 R??
Does someone has details of the prices of these two models for Daytona as X showroom figures?
Just curious to know if we are not on a wild goose chase as far as expecting for a launch of a std 675 is concerned while it is already here..
which would be terrible if that happens.
Much thanks for any clarifications.

P.S As for the difference, yes, 675 ABS is the standard edition with Nissin brakes and ABS. 675R comes with Brembo brakes, adjustible Ohlins suspension, ABS, quick shifter, carbon fibre mudguards and exclusive White-Red color.Last edited by pcgamer; 12-02-2013, 08:04 PM.
