(A lot depends on where you are riding-environmental factors)
The reason I doubt it,is because we tend to underestimate how long few things might last. To give you an example, which may or may not be the best one : let's take batteries.. if we keep changing them say every two weeks, without draining them out, we are not utilizing it properly; are we? Same logic
The guys at the service centre, suggested lubricating the chain every 500km too..

So I see it dirty, I clean it.. got it.. anything else that can be done in-house for maintaining the bike rather than going to the service station more frequently..?

Regular bike clean and polish, chain clean, lubrication and slack adjustment, coolant top up, changing brake pads are some of the easiest things which can be done at home.
Reg engine oil change, although its pretty easy and can be done at home, I would suggest getting it done at the SVC in the warranty period since in case you have to make any warranty claim, you would have to prove that regular maintenance was done and would be difficult to prove if done at home.

Slack adjustment and break pads change.. something I must learn to do.. I love getting my hands dirty anyways..

There's this some accelerator and clutch adjustment also right..?

Oh also for chain cleaning, kerosene is not available everywhere.. can we use petrol..? I've seen most mechanics use it.. is it actually recommended or only WD40..?

Use of petrol/ diesel for cleaning chain has been challenged a lot and there are arguments both for and against. I myself have been using the Tribocor chain cleaner and it does the job really well.
Costs approx Rs. 300 for a can. I would recommend use of any of the chain cleaner sprays available in the market.

Oh.. so a separate chain cleaner.. I've unfortunately never heard of that brand.. any company like petroleum that is big and trusted for it..?

after the chain is clean I'll have to use a special oil or something..? I read of a gear oil in the forums by BP.. is it recommended or there's some special oil for it..?

                              OT:-

All the stray sound is limited by the helmet's design. At 80 plus speed you could hardly even hear the engine's noise.

Very nice high speed stability.Vent on top directly send air to your ears.

                              Phewwwww........Wow!

You surely are pissed at people with that fancy named syndrome of yours.

It's one thing to give gyaan to junta when they are at fault and another whenever you feel like to.

Former earns you respect and latter only brings ridicule.

I posted 2 pictures of a beautiful bike and an quite impressive helmet and what you could figure out of it is bike's RVMs being folded on a stand still inside the parking area of my house?

And then accusing me of not using them on the roads and not being a safe driver?

How did you get to that presumption??
