    I don't know, someone from the RC390 ownership thread mentioned it for 200.. I never did it..

    Well if I were to visit them every month for a wash and chain cleaning, how much do you think they might charge me? I'm talking about the begumpet folks..


    and what's your frequency? Once in a month? I'm planning atleast once in three weeks.. (~600 kms) or a month (~800 Kms..) coz I ride about 200 KMs every week.. that's about 40 kms per day.. so yeah a lot of dirt accumulating.. What's your input?? How long do you think these guys will take to clean her?

      My rtr chain gets lubed and tightened for 20rs at local mechanics.... i guess u can get that done more regularly...takes 5 minutes only so 2-3 times a month specially during rains will only cost 20*3=60 rs and maintain it equally well ...100rs for this seems expensive looking at the value added from the special lube ... however I havent used these lubes so not sure if its really some smootheness tht I have never experienced ...

          Depends.
          I go to the ktm banjara. The wash costs 100/- there and chain cleaning and Lube is complementary.
          But at vinayak Bajaj at begumpet they charged me 100/- each for wash and chain stuff.
          I do washing once every 5-600kms and I get the chain cleaned at about the same time. But I make it a point only to go to ktm banjara hills. Begumpet guys are just not as friendly and they tend to manhandle bikes +no individual attention there.

            Oh.. then I'll pick a weekday and pay a visit to banjara hills folks for washing & lubing.. but I'm guessing I won't be getting a complimentary chain-service.. but I don't mind paying for a better service..

            Manhandling of bikes?? that's unheard of.. I won't let my black beauty go near them!!!

              These special lubes are more greasy in nature and less oily. Meaning they feel more like a cream than liquidy like oil.
              It just stays on longer than standard oil. Naked chains unlike covered chains are exposed to the elements more, so they need lasting protection and these chain sprays help with that.
              But you're right about 100/- being too much even with labour cost since a can of lube costs about 300/-.

                How long do the service centre guys take to do the chain-service?

                  It is a difficult task (more so if you own a rc) to do it alone at home without a paddock stand. You would need another person to help you do it.
                  What i suggest is, first watch how the svc does it and then you would know how easy/difficult it would be for you to do it. If necessary just buy a bottle of the oks chain spray from them and let them use it and just tip them for the labor... they do it in 2 mins since they have the paddock stand and a grunge brush.

                      I dont own a rc.. but if it has frame mounting points on both side as below..

                                If you observe closely, there's no RVMs in the pic.. no RVMs no indicators..

                                BTW

                                For tall guys who cannot use the RVMs to see what's behind you, what do you think about this "jugaad"
