    Just like me.
I think it's the ideal gap filler between the 300 and 650 segments. Something around 4.5-5L for a 500 and there will be a lot of buyers.
That said, I don't think the 500s are coming to India anytime soon.

Speculation is rife that there will be couple of more launches along with CBR650. Adding to mayhem, I think they may also launch CBR500. Its a very good and versatile bike perfectly bridging the gap between 300 and 650.

On a personal note, I will be devastated if they launched 500 between 5 to 6 lacs, considering 650 will be north of 7 lacs. Last time I thought of re-paying my home loan, I ended up buying the Ninja 300. I dont want to do that again and end up with 500. It is so enticing and my weakest point.

There was one unit of the CBR500 imported into India from Thailand for R&D on 2nd July, 2014. Also, some parts for R&D were brought in on 7th Oct 2013.
Since then no imports of anything related to that bike. Which means that its going to be a 100% locally manufactured bike OR that its not going to be launched.
Lets see. 2 days to go.

For you (already having N300), the 500 with 47ps isn't much of an upgrade.
Personally, I would prefer an R3 if I was looking for that segment for my upgrade.
Your minimum upgrade should be a 650!

They are relaunching CRB250R and 150R with the same old model and not the face lift.

                  Why is this ????

The forum masks that website. Not sure about the exact reasons but it does have a lot of incorrect info.

                              1. Go to the Honda Revfest site - Honda
                              2. Click on "New Launches" in the menu up top
                              3. Right click within the box that says "New Launches - Coming Soon!" and select "View Page Source"
                              4. See the HTML code and then you realize that B I K E A D V I C E was indeed correct. All four bikes that are mentioned are indeed going to launch, going by the page html (which someone has commented out now)

Here is a snapshot of the page html -

As far as I'm concerned, these are all good launches from Honda.
