    Re: Next Gen Apache Spied....!!!

Apache 200 will be the first TVS to get monoshock absorbers. It is expected to further enhance the sweet handling Apaches.
The split seats look sporty and the pillion comfort appears to have been traded off.
No ABS rings are visible but expect a higher priced ABS variant option upon launch.
The exhaust canister gets a unique new shape with with two outlet nozzles. There will be a covering tip in the production version.
Petal disc upfront is visible and there will be a rear disc brake as well.

    • Panels have honeycomb vents.
    • Grab rails are jolted at the tail and move forward.
    • There is an underbelly engine cover which will be more of a cosmetic accessory.
    • Asymmetric (BMW-influence?) aircraft-type fuel filler cap.

Also, one thing I don't understand - Do all 200+cc manufacturers think bikers are loners? I mean, where is the pillion seat? We don't have moms/wives/sisters/girl friends/even males having supermodel like bodies!
Speak of yourself, I have a supermodel girlfriend

Jokes aside, the Dukes have influenced the design of other 200cc+ bikes in a wrong way. Every manufacturer now wants their bikes to be as skinny as a model on Atkins.

I miss the old UJM form factor sometimes.
              I am back!

Air cooled with an oil rad = output of say 20 - 23 hp. Not D200-rivaling unless there's some hi-fi stuff going on.

i toh feel that these "spy" shots are planned events by the manufacturer, to keep the market on the boil, so that market interest is maintained...

Yes I agree. Because if it was an actual spy shot by an outsider, say a member here, the pics would most likely have covered everything the first time itself - the engine, the tyres, the frame etc etc rather than coming out in small installments

Apache RTR 200 - 20th of January Launch

The much awaited TVS Apache 200 will be launched on the 20th of January, confirmed India’s third largest two wheeler manufacturer. To be produced from their plant in Hosur, new TVS Apache 200 has been spied on multiple occasions, increasingly over the last few days. Yet, there has not been a single image where the bike has been caught uncamauflaged.
Bench-marked against the KTM Duke 200, TVS Apache 200 is going to be faster and more powerful than the Duke 200. The 200 cc air-cum-liquid cooled engine is expected to deliver up to 10% more power and torque as compared to the KTM Duke 200. We expect the power output to be above 25 hp while torque delivery to be above 22 Nm. This engine is mated to a five speed gearbox.

New TVS Apache 200 will be available in two variants, standard and ABS. Standard variant will get front and rear disc brake with TVS tyre, while the ABS variant will get dual channel ABS with Pirelli tyres. The exhaust unit is special, unlike any on offer in India till date. It will have a rich bass note, very much like the Mahindra Mojo which has dual exhausts.

That is an utterly pointless time to launch a bike on. Why not just launch it on the 5th at the Auto Expo, and grab all the headlines? Whats so special about 20th? Shubh mahurat?
