3: So lets get this straight. You are saying that because the 390 single has good power, so going by that logic, the 800, which is a paralel twin will have good power too? Weird.

4: Thats what Samarth619, and a lot of other senior members who have given their valuable contributions to this thread think it will retail for.
If I can recollect, you wanted a bike for short term use with good resale under a budget of, I guess 1-1.10lakhs. You were to upgrade later to some other bike. It may be vague but this is the gist of what I remember.

2. Cracked alloys, cause of this may be various. Did it crack when standing still? It indicates towards various attributes of both the bike, ride n the rider. But as far as I know, cracked alloy cases are few n far between nowadays. But I do acknowledge the problem. I make it a point not to hit potholes or bumps at high speeds n maintain proper air pressure always.

3. It may. It wasn't my conclusion, it was mentioned as you had a doubt regarding the performance and I answered on behalf of a fellow bhpian thinking that this corollary might be the base for his belief. If the products already launched is something to go by, I believe that KTM has no reason to cut back on power and performance.

4. I didn't know that and I don't want to speculate. But will I buy it if launched at that price, Hell yeah!

1: and the CBR250 costs that much?

2: .

3: I just said that the D800 doesn't make sense at 5 lakhs(because its not gonna cost 5 laks in the first place), even if it does, N650 makes more sense to me. But then, to each his own.

4: To each his own. I wouldn't.

1. You were to buy a new bike, now I remember. My apologies.

3. D800 for 5lakhs is a bit being over optimistic. If it does, then as you said, to each his own. I for one would be tremendously happy n buy it.

4. Agree. To each his own.

HyperRetard doesn't like KTMs, simple as that. And I don't like Japanese bikes. Always loved Europeans, to each their own. I'd rather buy a Triumph Striple than Z800, that's me.

Anyway, this looks like a good upgrade from D390 from the KTM stable. Might whoop arses of other 800cc motorcycles.

Same here dude.

I was the one pushing Archer84 for the Benelli 899 when he was stuck on Z800.
I'd rather have an Aprillia over a ZX10R.

But I personally think that the build quality of KTMs is not upto the mark. But then, thats me. People may agree with me, they may not.

Well, being an owner of a Ktm I can tell you that the build quality is certainly not stellar..at least not when I bought it in 2012. I hear steps have been taken to improve on that. Don't know how fruitful have been those steps. I would really have second thoughts before buying a bajaj built Ktm. But would this experience stop me from considering a Ktm altogether? No. Bajaj are Satan. They would tease you with these absolutely sexy looking powerful bikes. And knowing fully well that you should probably not choose the high maintenace cheating supermodel over the dependable and trustworthy girl next door, you still take the plunge. That is why I have to say this: Bloody hell I would buy a shit quality Ktm duke 800 for 5 lakhs...it would be too much fun😆

The bigger duke will get similar styling too. You may want to take a look at first pic again, there is gap between fairing and speedo, indicating the old fairing has just been put for testing. Final version will have similar styling as 1290
