purely feel good factor about contributing that little bit towards doing a little less polluting. Otherwise nothing...

I enquired at a honda dealership.they were pretty warm which is generally not the case.10 days waiting period in Hyderabad. Aadi honda.most probably I would be booking today and mine will be first booking.just confused between gixxer and hornet as gixxer is 5.5k cheaper when compared with standard variant.

no, depending on the class of bike (or scooter) the pressure distribution varies. but a component of the pressure is also directed at the forward brake.
this is achieved by the centre piston on the front brake. (there are 3)

I had booked the bike with INR 5000/- in Kolkata. Deliveries are likely to happen in January 2016 only.

Beside the missing engine kill switch, I had hoped for FI, but that did not happen. I just pray that the bike will have DC headlamp.

So the bike would be a 2016 make or 2015 ?

can we rather say that CBS is sort of a cheaper substitute for ABS?
cause primarily ABS prevents skidding and well due to CBS there wont be too much braking pressure on just one tire thereby preventing unnecessary skids.

you could say that. it is NOT ABS, it does not avoid a wheel lock, but it does reduce the possibility of wheel lock by ensuring both wheels brakes contribute to speed reduction even with application of only 1 brake...

ABS and CBS are quite different technology and CBS isn't exactly a substitute of ABS. CBS looks at distribution of braking force to both wheels with any single lever press thereby increasing braking efficiency and dynamics. CBS uses complex electronic control on brake calipers to prevent wheel lock during hard braking thereby reducing the chance of skidding.

If I get the bike in Jan hopefully the invoicing will also be in January making it a year 2016 model motorcycle. I am not sure of the number of pre-bookings garnered, production capacity and dispatch schedule, all of which will impact when I get the bike in hand. Dealers are either not sure themselves or being tight lipped about it.

                  I guess you meant ABS.

Anyways I was looking forward to buy Honda Hornet but I am still confused why does the year of manufacturing matter when the bike itself is launched in Dec.

                  Thanks,
                  Amith

Down the line after 5-6 years when most of them don't even remember when this bike was launched,
Then these used bikes will be categorised as either 2015 model or 2106 model. Just for bargain.

But only we know that well maintained older bikes are better than ripped latest models.

It is commanding a premium of 12 k over trigger and providing nothing substantial to justify

They should give 17bhp Engine now..

Other than increase in power and styling everything is same.it shares underpinnings with trigger.atleast they should have given DC headlamp and good quality switchgear.but still I would be buying this for better pillion Seat compared to gixxer.
