Well agreed 12k is a bit steep compared to trigger but why should you compare it with trigger? Rather compare it to the competitors. Its around 4k costlier than Gixxer and its cheaper than FZ. People will say FZ has FI and hence so costly but then whats the use of such an advanced system when it wont have a better Fuel efficiency neither power figures than its competitors. I believe Hornet will have a better FE and obviously its way to faster than others. I saw a drag video where Unicorn 160 won over Gixxer. Now take into account the bump in power and torque figures. Design-wise, i feel, its currently the best in the segment. Personally i liked the design over Gixxer, which for me, comes second here. Though the rear seat design could have been a bit more sporty to gel overall with the design cues of the bike. But i guess Honda people went for utility over design hence it would be more comfortable as some folks have already mentioned here. Also consider that Honda "ALWAYS" charges a premium over its competitors. Its just their policy. [OT-Sometimes i feel even if their overall cost is too low, still they would launch for a bigger price to conform to this policy :P]

Coming to trigger i felt it was a dated design even when it was launched and it was manufactured on the same structure which their previous bikes were made. Hornet looks really different. Just waiting to see it in flesh. Even to see the new Dark blue colour. It looks quite different. I am positive about this bike and i feel that it would be gamechanger just as how Gixxer was. And also FZ sales would see a decline but Gixxer wont be affected much here.

Looks good! Honda's best attempt in this segment yet IMO. Good looks, more power, fatter tyres....but bad switchgear? Damn...
Any idea abt OTR price for Bangalore?

That's right when compared to competition its justified. It also is a bit bigger than gixxer.I enquired at a dealer at first he said 10 days for the bike to arrive but today the se called and said it will arrive in 3 days .I don't know will it be delivered so early.

OTR Bangalore will be around 1 lakh I guess ( without accessories of course ) for Rear disk with CBS variant .

Saw the hornet yesterday in flesh. It looks good. The rear tires are monstrous. Overall design is commendable. The display bike was black which i had not liked much frankly. I had visited Venetian Honda Kandivali in Mumbai and they said they had 40 bookings already and that even if i book now, it will take minimum 2 months. No confirmation on colour too!

However one thing which i noticed and which looked really bad was the welding work around the front forks below the Handlebar which is quite visible from the right side when the handlebars are tilted towards the left. Forgot to take a picture though.

The quotation (w/o accessories) was ~93500 (Non CBS) & ~98300(CBS). Later i saw on the Honda website which said on road rate for Mumbai as 92222(Non CBS). Will question the dealer whenever he calls me up.

for 4K more than Gixxer, this is what the difference in Hornet is
No Engine Kill switch, infact cheap switch gear found in a bike close to half the price
              Thinner front forks
AC Headlamp (need to confirm, But I'm fairly confident Honda would have shouted from top if it was DC Headlamp)
The only positive for Hornet is probably a little bit of more power so between Gixxer and Hornet, Gixxer seems to be a better bet any day
Do speed breakers break speed or break backs !!!

Well the lamps are DC. Someone said it here. About cheap switch gear idk how far that is the truth. I guess the switch gear used are quality products just that the omission of Engine kill switch literally kills us. Having said that, even CBR 150R doesnt gets engine kill switch if i am not wrong. So Hornet not getting one doesnt surprise me.

Well to tell you the truth, I am not a Honda fan-boy. I am just buoyed given the looks of the bike.

Yes Overall Gixxer is better buy. Hornet gives slightly more power & may look slightly better then Gixxer.on the other hand Gixxer is 5 kgs lighter then Honda. Can't go wrong with either.

The price of the Gixxer stands at 87k on road in my hometown inclusive of mirrors and saree gaurd. The Honda hornet costs 92K on road without any accessories at all. And guess what, even the Number plates are billed as an extra accessory by Honda Add the cost of saree gaurd and mirrors, the price hits 93K. I don't see where the justification for the Rs 6000 difference is. The switch gear comes straight off the dream series. Heck, even the CBR 150 gets the same My 2012 Unicorn has infinitely better switches. Engine kill switch is still missing. Trust me , there is no DC lighting,I called up a friend who went to the launch. People have been crying out for these 2 features since the trigger was launched and yet Honda doesn't really seem to care what prospective customers want. The only positive of the Hornet is the higher Power and torque figures. And if i a may, better resale value.

Im not sure of better resale value, it really depends on the bike (be it Honda or any other company), Just check the resale value of Trigger and my own personal experience with Dream Yuga was bad, lost quite a bit of money on that bike
