Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India will be launching a new motorcycle on the 18th of December 2014.

Honda is expected to launch the Unicorn 160 on the 18th of December 2014, as had been previously announced.

Honda Motorcycles & Scooters India recently announced their intention to launch an all new 160cc motorcycle for the Indian market by the end of the calendar year.

HMSI have recently launched a few models which have been well received by the Indian market and will therefore not be launching the planned 160cc till November-December 2014. Vice President YS Guleria confirmed this on the sidelines of the announcement that the company has tied up with Punjab National Bank for vehicle finance to boost sales in the rural and semi-urban market.

Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India has tied up with Punjab National Bank for vehicle finance as the two-wheeler maker eyes greater penetration in the rural and semi-urban regions across the country. The company, which gets around 30 per cent of revenues from rural and semi-urban areas, expects a boost in sales as around 40 per cent of the PNB's total 6,340 branches are located in the rural, semi-urban areas.

    News Approved

Wonder what would the 160cc bike be like. Maybe an upgrade to current Trigger to take on the newly launched Gixxer, FZV.2 and the Discover. Interesting market it is going to be in the 150cc segment.
Biking is not about what you have between your legs, its all about how well you use it!!!!!!!

Whether they make it a sports-tourer or a commuter that remains to be seen.

As per my view, After Unicorn Honda has failed to live up to it's own standards. I don't see any other 150 offering from them garnering the same amount of respect as Unicorn once did.
Rather then ruining the bike further, they should come up with completely new bike rather then same mill in different cloths.

Rightly said. Unicorn as a legend of an engine. The overall build quality of Unicorn is also way better that any other of Honda's other bikes in India.

I was totally disappointed when a company like Honda launches a bike and then chooses to stop production...i.e Honda Dazzler!! Do your research properly before you hit the market!!!!

I got one after using a 1st gen Unicorn for 7 years....

No one even have a hint of what the bike is going to be like.
Not even the media or dealers know anything about the bike.

Honda said that the bike is a new one developed from ground up.

A 160cc bike they say from ground up, can't be further from truth thought they might claim it to be. Heck, all they need to do is update a parameter in the CNC machine which bores the cylinder and voila a new 160cc!

It just goes to show that they don't have anything new planned for Indian market for the next couple of years, hence the +10.

I don't think they will rebore the present 150cc engine. They will leave the 150cc engine aside.
Honda has the money to do a completely new 160cc bike and also the present 150cc engine is decade old.
Suzuki has done with the Gixxer.
But ya even then it is hard to believe they will launch a brand new 160cc bike when they have very good 150cc bikes.
