Spoke to a TVS engineer the other day.
Got to know the Akula is still in "alpha stage" testing (the parts used on the bike might still change at this stage) , next is the "Beta stage" production and later will be the actual mass production.
The tentative launch of the Akula is in March 2017. Deliveries of the bike will be around September/ October.
BMW and TVS will launch 4 bikes in total on the same platform (i.e, G310R, GS 310 & Akula / Apache 300) The fourth will be a naked with a TVS badge, might be a cruiser to take on R.E's 350 & Bajaj Dominar.
The Akula has the same seat technology as the RTR200. (one can expect the seat to be comfy). The seat height will be similar to the G310R , only the seat shape and foam thickness might alter the seat height.

Thats strange... I heard different thing from form my svc manager that bike is going to be launch in march & they are going to hosur in feb for the technical demo & training for the bike.

Yes bro, the launch will be in march this year .TVS's management focuses on the production of star city, victor etc. (even the RTR200 gets very less production comparatively.) The production of Akula will be in less numbers at first and after studying the market trend TVS will revise the production. The waiting period for the bike is going to be quite high and normalize in a few months, hence a projected time of sept/oct.
The training will be done for performing "service" of the bike as the engine,chassis, suspension,brakes etc. are going to remain the same.

Well thats true!!... Initially i aslo think that waiting period for the akula will damm high..... Hope tvs knows that they are competing with world's finest manufacturers this time. (Yamaha, ktm, Kawasaki, benelli). So the competition will tough for them.

TVS obviously knows the competition, hence the BMW tie-up

. TVS has got the BMW platform and tech. they just need to modify and keep the cost down. TVS has good fit-and-finish and they know how to keep the cost low. Only the time-to-market is bad.

In the recent video of BMW G310 R , the speaker has mentioned that the delivery of vehicles has been delayed due to gearbox issue until the spring. Not sure how much this info is right.

I posted this as Akula shares the engine and all with G310R ( as believed ). Even the test mule switch gear is the same one that comes in G310 R.

These TVS Social network are not from TVS employees I guess. They outsource for moderating the social forum. For abs launch they say same what Rushlane has updated

These TVS Social network are not from TVS employees I guess. They outsource for moderating the social forum. For abs launch they say same what Rushlane has updated

Nah!!.. its like a social media coustemer care support.. even i have filed a complaint 2month back.. & surprisingly they were very quick in resolving my issue. 😄

First of all when TVS would launch FI variant of apache 200, there was perfect time for TVS but they lost it they could have gained major share in the market in 200cc segment.

I totally agree wid on this... But still tvs is selling rtr200 in good numbers!!... I hope the unavailability of rtr200fi will be solved in march..
