Paid? Are you joking?Originally posted by prince.of.united View PostI m not surprised to see so many moderators coming and jumping into this thread. Geez! The moderator who hadnt posted anything since a decade jumped in this thread in the defence of the Bajaj machine! I would not be surprised to see astonishing / stunning / highly biased review of the Dominor here as the review will be a paid one!
Guys grow up! Your bias towards Bajaj products is visible even to the blind eyes! I havent seen only Sunny posting in this thread, he may busy promoting Ducati as he always do.
I am not a bajaj fan but i can't stop thinking about this bike. The performance, the handling, the looks ....etc etc and most importantly the price. I browse YouTube for new review/reviews on it, and watched it whenever i had the time

Yes, XBHP is filled with blind Bajaj Supporters. You are welcome to leave the forum and join some other, which is unbiased. Or you can start one of your own. Sorry, but this cannot be considered a review and is more of an opinion which keeps wandering to different unrelated things. Looks like he has never ridden a bike apart from splendour.Originally posted by sree@mumbai View Post

owners of all big forums are biased. nothing wrong with that. have seen this in most of things from bikes to audiophole gear.Originally posted by sambit View PostYes, XBHP is filled with blind Bajaj Supporters. if he does start a forum and it gets popular, wonder how will he bash a manufacturer that regularly sends him to Central Europe for bike trips and long rides and offers his most exotic selection of bikes to play with.
not saying such is case with xbhp. just a speculation.

I did test ride this bike..
Not the bike of my taste and I don't want to post a honest review of the bike.. If I do post it, I will be mocked at.. LoL
After riding this bike, my Ninja was ultra smooth. I don't understand how people actually compare it with R3's smoothness..
Nevertheless.. a brilliant effort from Bajaj.. Kudos to themSplendor - 2k to 2006

An honest review will definitely help someone.
You are riding the N250 so its understood if it falls short on your checklist.
But still you can compare it to the karizma you own ?!

Let me try, because I did take a test ride over few km.Originally posted by dnewguy View PostAn honest review will definitely help someone.

The engine is smooth. Now if someone asks if it is Unicorn or ZMA like smooth? Hell no! It can't be. It's a 370+cc single for crying out loud.
Finish is very good for the price, let alone for Bajaj. The bike has good front feedback (weight wise) and seats are comfy, though the weight makes its presence felt while taking U turns. Seating position felt neutral like (better than the cramped Duke position) in the short ride. Mid range was strong and I see having good fun in ghats and state highways chugging along at decent speeds at the middle of the rev band.
TR was taken in the day so light throw couldn't be measured but LEDs look gorgeous. The bike didn't heat a lot in traffic. There were some vibes under 3k RPM near the gear shifter though.
Now coming to the part in bold - No, Karizma doesn't even compare to this offering (price vs specs vs tech vs availability vs perceived reliability vs usability). Hopefully with few batches rolled out and (whatever) issues resolved, D400 rules the streets and hearts!
P.S - not a paid opinion.
P.P.S - 35 ps, 35 nm and now page 35 too.

Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Launched at 1.36 Lakh with 35Ps and 35Nm!
So finally the day has come..
Hi everyone I am Mohammed Faizan from Mumbai. I own Karizma R, for 8 years now and still love the bike. Started to look out for my upgrade last year and after going through multiple TD of different bikes had settled for Benelli 300. The pros and cons all studied from xBhp and few more forums, I realized the maintenance cost is a killer. So once again the hunt started. Yesterday I went for a TD of Dominor 400 and the only word I had to say after the ride was awesome. I have never been a bajaj fan but this time with the price and power combination being offered in dominor I have found my next ride.
So booked my D400 and now will wait until the beast comes home.
Thank you all the members for such great reviews and posts, it really helped a no-voice like me to make a good decision.

Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Launched at 1.36 Lakh with 35Ps and 35Nm!
Hey guys... Took a TD of Dominar, RE Himalayan, CBR250R yesterday and today.
And I should say Dominar beat 'em hands down.
Quick thing about the other bikes, that I felt from the TD
1)RE Himalayan: (50km TD- Chamundi Enfield-Salem)
Pros:
Great seating for pillion and rider. Nice stability during winds. I was able to push till 85-90 kmph and there were no vibes.
Cons:
Hard clutch. Hard gear shifter. Engine got heated up after riding at 90kmph and felt the heat on my legs so much. The windshield started shaking around 40-50kmph and lasted forever.

2)CBR250R: (20kms odd- Suryabala Honda - Coimbatore)
Pros:
Engine smoothness as we all know. Nice pickup.
Easy handling.
Cons:
The pillion seat is quite not the type I want. I travel with a pillion often and it wasn't comfy.
Model is quite old. I asked the showroom ppl if there any upgrades coming up, they werent sure and they were too keen on selling the one CBR250R they had in their showroom😓.

3)Dominar 400: (40odd kms-Adhitya Bajaj-Coimbatore)
Pros:
The pickup and performance is wonderful and unexpected. I had never liked Bajaj but today things are different. The work done by BAL on the bike is very evident. The power delivery is very linear and smooth. The engine was smooth as compared to other Bajaj bikes but not as much as Honda's. Seating posture is excellent and comfortable for long rides. The rider and pillion seats are very comfy. The bike's got good stability in highways. The instrument cluster is delightful to look at. As I reached 130kmph, vibrations started seeping in, and I cooled down. The brakes are excellent. Rear brake could be a bit better but good enough. The bike stops where you want it to stop. It gives an overall confidence while driving. The suspension is good, the 43mm forks doing a good job. Gear shifting is excellent, smooth and the slipper clutch adds more comfort to it.
Cons:
1) Large turning radius. It was so large that the guy who drove (2nd ride, where i was the pillion to test pillion comfort) almost dropped the bike.
2) Weight. I'm upgrading from a CB Unicorn 150 and this bike didnt seem much heavy to me. I was able to balance it pretty well though it will be difficult for some like the guy above.
3) Horn. Very poor horn. Even I couldn't hear it at times. But I was told we could upgrade it later. So I guess it's fine. But until then, it's a negative.
FYI, I was told black and red colours will be available from nov-dec '17 and may be yellow too.

On the whole, the Dominar at 1.6L is an irresistible package. After the test drive, I came back home and booked the bike.! And I'm very glad I did.
(Sorry for the cramped info. I just jotted down the points as it came up in my mind)
PS: since this is a Dominar focussed thread, I've given more importance to its review than the other ones.
