Hey guys I visited Sri velavan motors just to check out these machines in flesh and I was blown away the sheer beauty of the product. And asked if I could hear the exhaust note believe me guys the bike roars and that made me book the bike instantly. Made the booking for interceptor 650 on 16/11/2018 @ Sri Velavan Motors - greams road, Chennai. Booking amount is 5,000 and delivery promised by Jan end - Feb. Baker express color. Can't wait.

I guess with this launch of twins the exorbitant prices quoted for RD will crash and moreover i am sold on the looks alone of INT 650 this is what next RD should be . going to book Baker Red or Ravishing Red can't decide between the two.

James Young who is responsible for the new RE engine design was the erstwhile team leader of Triumph powertrain division. It will be interesting to see if India can keep the quality control up to the mark in the future

The rear tyre looks a bit skinny anyone else feel the same? Can we upsize it to 150/70?

Did anyone notice that your knee touches engine’s heat sink when you sit on Continental GT650. Might become big affair when it hot. Dealer said that knee guard will be a must [emoji856]

Company itself provides the guards as per my knowledge.
Because all the test bikes also had it.

Not exactly. There is a knee guard on both sides which is provided by the company. This didnt pop up when so many people did the test ride of this bike. Don’t worry about this issue. Yeah city usage may not be that easy though...

It might become an issue brother. My knee was dangerously close to the engine. It was touching the plastic heat sink protection. I forgot to click pictures. I will again swing by RE for a test ride (Whenever they call me for one) and will then post here. Cheers!

Well I tried too... for me it didn’t.. I am 5.9. Even I am waiting for the test drive to verify this further. Will see about it. But check out YouTube or any website where this bike has been reviewed, none complained about this as an issue.. let’s see further..

Duke 390, don't think so, people like me to who own a D390 know why they want it, it's crazy quick, makes you feel like a teenager Everytime you wring the throttle, also it offers a lot more in the same price, still Interceptor is an interesting choice. Retro looks with enough power for highway cruising, also with the low end punch, a far better bike than the D390 in city.

I always loved how the RE's looked, but never bought one as they were too slow for my liking, but the Interceptor is something else. This just might become my first RE.

The halogen head lamps were bright enough, but im not sure about the exact specifications, however the Low beam throw was spread in a defined way. I did not check the High beam. If you check in a detailed test drive update please.

We needed long hours in the INT saddle. We needed to ride it on changing terrain. We needed to see how it handled slow corners and fast; smooth tarmac and undulating one; and, of course, we wanted some cheap beer. We also had to subject the bike to long traffic jams, and show it a wide-open road to get it to scream its lungs out. We wanted to find out what speeds it is comfortable cruising at, and how far can it go on a tankful. A Mumbai-Goa road trip promised all that.
