          Stock Exhaust Note

Sounds very similar to the Bonneville 900cc Twins due to the 270 degree crank, but has more grunt and seems to be more louder. The most refined Royal Enfield sound ever in my opinion.

First ride impressions from Schumi (Overdrive Mag):

Well, well, well...It looks like RE has surprised everyone with the Twins.

Oh man this is great! As much as I despair for RE's build quality, I have always liked their entries that departed from the bullet formula. The Continental GT was good and the Himalayan is a such a sorted ride.

I can get behind an Indian brand that is genuinely trying to take on the world. I just hope RE treats us Indian riders at par with the rest. No cutting corners in the Indian market please.

BTW this will also bring some exclusivity back to the brand. Don't know about the South, but Bullets, Classics and Thunderbirds are now the "bhaiyya ji", "jatt da puttar" and "yadav ka chhora" ride in North India . I have also seen a few flaunting "Brahman" recently .

From what I’ve gathered following the Himalayan’s US & other country groups on FB, it seems the BS4 versions are built equally - barring the tyres supplied & the shape of the turn indicators.

The very few minor niggles that are being reported on the Indian FB group were found being mentioned in these foreign groups too. This might point to RE building the same quality machines to the domestic & export market.

And of course, when the twins hit our Indian roads we might just have the confidence we yearn for in terms of build quality. Fingers crossed on that!

I assume maybe because it is a Honda Engine (correct me if u am wrong)

You do stand corrected (unfortunately). The engine was developed by Harris performance UK after RE acquired the company.

No doubts about the engine’s lineage. Hope this extract from NDTV’s Car & Bike clears the same:

Oh man! Schumi’s first ride feedback is ticking all the right boxes. Excited & Jumping around + A huge sigh of relief. (Then realises the truth will reveal itself only after actual user feedback in the next couple of months [emoji849])

He mentions the possibility of a November or December launch of the Twins in India. I’d put my bet on the event coming around the time of the Rider Mania in November. Just a hunch...

Thats great if its a honda engine. It will be reliable and smooth. I feel our market was desperately looking for a torquey and simple machine with accessible power and price.
Our market is full of bikes with peaky power delivery. Honda had a lot of options but they never considered them for Indian market. Heck, they didn't even launched the naked cbr250 in India. I don't know how much effort was needed to strip the fairing and making it affordable.

Looks like it isn't. However, it is also possible that they developed an already existing Honda Engine. I am not sure.
