Nobody is talking about P200 upgrade?? Yes xbhpians are always interested in POWER.
    me thinks no.

    Whats the AVG?

Fi was a boon for touring. Even after being reeppeedd to the max this babe would return a healthy 30-35kmpl. Other bike ridden to the max also returns the same(atleast my RTR does)

Pee200 returned 25-29kmpl in touring.....wonder how much would the carb 220 will avg....20-25 may be?

Anyways, if this news is even 1% true...

Than, as predicted, P220 would be carbed and tweaked...

and in all probablity replace p200...

And FI would find a way in a 'new' bike....!

Biggest bajaj customer (happy) i know!

He hates honda to the max

Guess will have to wait till June 23'rd to find that out.

But surely there can't be smoke without fire (Remember the teaser, "When it comes to speed, We Rule the game" which came for the 2009 Pulsar along with the Fast and the Furious 4).. the P220 already was the fastest in straight line (just used to lose out in the twisties). I expect and have faith on Bajaj that this new P220 should definitely be a Speed Demon. I also expect that the suspension to be better (Bajaj doesn't resort to sticker/paint jobs, but improve its bikes with every iterations).

Q 2. If the above is true (seriously fast) will it affect R15's or Karizma's sales..??

If the bike is as good (fast), comes with the same aggressive price tag as the news suggests and proves itself in the initial few months without any major issues, I don't see why not.

Not unless somebody is hell bent for a "full fairing" or is blind like Pankaj Kapur (as in the blind man TV ad who would only go for the Splendor) not to see anything else.

But yes, the new 2009 P220 will definitely have to prove itself (The optimist in me tells that it will).
^ in total agreement to what you said , I feel it will be a great bike to buy!

Lets hope so , When 220 delivered what most of us expected , I definitely expect more from this bike.

Bike is FASTEST - 0 to 60... and 0 to 100, both.... among the bikes currently being manufactured in India.

And when I say that.. that also means.. new 220 is also being compared to old 220.
wasnt 220 dtsfi the fastest in both already?

    I heard (possibly a rumour) 0-60 in 3.6-3.8 , 0-100 around 11 (which was 12.5-13 previously)

Open a bit more and give us some stats

this things will have its own positive and negative effect probably
i hope only positive things to be happen

hope other companies also dont down grade in a way to compete
    would be some kinda disaster
The price quoted by CNBC is not to be beleived

And since there is no FI Unit, less number of sensors , no ECU , the cost would come down naturally.

A lot of valid and sensible points there.

I loved the following statement: Bajaj doesn't resort to sticker/paint jobs, but improve its bikes with every iterations).

    Bajaj redesigned the frame!?!?

Ofcourse it will never be a R15, but how far did they go on this!!

Now this has me wondering what all the new bike has to offer!

But koshun is by how much?

eg: when the R15 was launched it was touted to beat the shit outta of any bike in a quarter mile, track etc, etc....but we all know what the result really was.

Will have to wait and see for that.
