@Sachin sir:I doubt it would be a dampener Sachin sir, although make the 70k price tag more like in the range of 88-90k, ex-showroom! And yes, it WILL definitely be the fastest bike in the Indian market, atleast as far as straight line top-speed is concerned.

lol.....What about the new P200 with P220s fairing?

The p220 will loose its individuality.....the only thing separating the two bikes was the FI.....

70k for 220? I guess Bajaj or the media is again throwing speculations around just to make us take notice and start debating. We should wait and watch till the 23rd June, no point arguing and contemplating right now

This happens everytime a bike is about to launch. More often than not, the reality is a dampener.
About the time 220 was to be launched, there were lots of things flying about, but 220 delivered only what its price tag allowed it to do (VFM for sure)
When the R15 was about to launch, people were comparing it to Ninja, leave alone a 220.(Remember the 22ps specs )
The Apache RTR 180 is another case in point.

Its best we wait till 23rd before giving our 'judgements' on what Bajaj can and cannot do.

OT: Recently my 220 gave me the best mileage that a Swift VDI can give in the last 400 odd kms! And its also given me about 42 at times....
    hehe.....congo!

Though i manage to get good mileage in city (best being 67kmpl on my RTR so far).....i never got abv 42kmpl during touring. worst was 27kmpl and best was 47kmpl (this was on sunday ride)

Same goes for everyboy in hyd xbhp! Wonder why its different from all u guys!

Are'nt we turning this into a mileage thread?
    Guess am the reason!

I'm taking this news with a pinch of salt, since this is not an official announcement by Bajaj, there is a lot of speculation mixed into it too.
Btw, talks about R15 being the fastest in everything 0-60, 0-100 were also pure speculations. The official statement was its performance would be better than 2 segments above it&so it did achieve.
Coming back to the 220, I'm interested in seeing what the fastest Indian bike is gonna be like!

Kriss's, booo's and sagar's Pee200 never returned above 33kmpl while on ride......most of the times rpm's were flying past 8-9k!
