Since at the EOD Cost matters......and Buying the Costliest FZ will definetely be a concern....and rather modificatons will bring the total cost of one bike to 01Lakh.........

So far Patrol Bikes were only of Bullets....Apache's.....Pulsars....in INDIA.....

So at the end they will end up only on an INDIAN Manufacturer.....
i would rather take the rtr 160 instead of the fz,as they are fast and nimble, just what the doc ordered for mumbai

      Agreed!
P220 is a better option.. It would look more menacing, over the FZ..
Would also have more power for chases (if required )..
& yeah, VFM even for the govt. Hehe..

If P220 is given for the Police.......Then there will be a Opposite Reaction for the P220 2009 edition AD........

In the AD thief robbs money from a bank and escape in P220.......
In reality if Police uses P220 then they will *** money from us as ****..... and let us escape......

        Oh no...no.....no...no....no.....what ive posted.......

          1. Why DC? Why not a couple of enthusiast students from NID and a couple of other design schools in the country? Then hand over the design to Yamaha and let them do the mod job at a much lesser price.

          2. That's the FZ and no the FZ-S right? As seen in the pictures?

          3. Our country is going nowhere, unless the policy makers allot themselves proper seats. We cannot go on letting them make decisions upon things they've no clue about.

          4. Fine have your FZ-S and maybe even the Fazer since it has the 'looks' you so badly want, but atleast make sure its ridden by properly fit policemen who know a thing or two about biking. Let them been seen in pictures with two fingers over the brake lever. Let them do their own basic maintenance.

The RTR 160 makes more sense for a police bike as its less on price and....

...and even if you are chasing the 'Fastest Indian', you can atleast sight him...

            ..Peace..

That's right. What's the use of having those bikes when those cops can't even race properly in the case of a pursuit.

The Mumbai Police's Traffic dept. recently got like a 100 new modded Pulsars last month. I was in Churchgate, when they went on a parade. What a sight! Anyways, point is, why another new set of bikes?

Doesnt it require the pillion to wear helmet in B'lore?

I think they should consider some other bike - may be the new ZMR?

What you saw was a "Tiger". These guys are the regular cops and not the traffic cops. The traffic cops have the typical white P150s. Forget the pillion not wearing helmet, you will find cops riding on the wrong side of the road, not wearing a helmet at all and a lot of other antics. Cops are pretty corrupt compared to other states like Mumbai , TN, Kerala.

Initially I was wondering, they(Mumbai police) should've got a zma or something, but then thinking a lil more practically, I dont think an FZ or a ZMA is going to make much difference in terms of power/speed. First of all, there are hardly any chases that happen, secondly, even if there is, a ZMA or an FZ should not make a difference in city roads. I think an FZ is a good choice and I'm sure it will do good atleast for boosting their image.
