Now that is something. The only thing that worries me is..whether a 5 speed gearbox, DTS-Si, Nitrox Suspension, State of the art materials lining the piston and other features make any difference to a common man for whom a "Hero Honda is a Hero Honda...bahut smooth hai aur kuch maintainance nahi lagta"

I say this quoting my carpentar...this crazy bloke has not serviced his shaky, rattling and rusted Splendor for almost 2 years...and he swears by its smooth engine...

It seems, the common man is entirely perception based to make a smart decision of buying the new Disco...

    BTW...I love the new Disco...

If only the aam janata preferred 150-200 cc bikes instead of the 100 cc fixation.. most of us would have been at least on a 400-600 cc multi cylinder by today .

        Ah well.. customermer is king

Yes it was 150cc before then it came in to 125cc........

Now its time for 100cc to get all the Juntas......and this is the only way to Compete against HH commuter segment Bikes........
          Bajaj has learnt it.......
Soon we can see them from Honda toooo......
By the way TVS already has some of these Juntas in thier Star CIty.....
But 5 speed gear box and Nitrox......!!!!!!!

            Whoa!
            Did I miss out something?
When was the Discover a 150cc?

nice move by Bajaj putting a 5 speed tranny to a 100 cc block an Industry first.
I remember the lack of a 5th cog felt sorely by the Disco135 as well as 125 riders..
Finally Discover = chhoti pulsar tag will go away as their engines don't look that similar anymore.

^ vinfreak: That's right! They have brought some serious Technology Down Under...!

Although, I'm surprised by this move. No one could have thought that they'll price it at 40k, with enough features and add ons to justify it. Great!
Now, we have yet to see how the 5 gears work in a 100cc, although I feel it would be just fine. Let's see...

That looks like XCD125 Engine (Bajaj says it's DTS-Si v2.0), so xcd engine plonked into old discover 110 chassis....that's D100
Discover brand now has covered 100/110/125/135cc segments, I guess the next discover will be D150(touted to be 'sprint')--- D125 Chassis with Pulsar Engine
If sales don't pick up on D100/D150(sprint), the next ones will be XCD110, XCD150...!!
Next set will be ofcourse based on DTS-Si V3....

Just one year back D135/13bhp was sold with 4 gears, and today we have 5 gears on 100cc Discover !!

Hmmmm... Interesting move by Bajaj. They're damn hungry for that No.1 spot I think.

This 100cc Disco can be a hit if it follows the suit of its pulsar siblings (Refinery, read: P180 UG4 + P220 dtsi), or else I see another fine bike being smashed by the 100c.c king, HH.

oval pent roof combustion chamber and Molykote Piston this was nowhere specified in the XCD or any other bike from Bajaj for that matter. If you are kidding then its fine

Some people have problems with mixing and matching. But such mixing and matching can lead to something great!!
What if the new discover 100 is a very smooth 100cc? Also 5 speed 100 cc is one of a kind. Lets wait and watch shall we?

First impression-Five gears which most most probably means relaxed engine & better mileage. Discover at 100cc is a strange move but I guess this product should have come from their stable some 2 years back.

Btw what's with Bajaj rear tail lamp design.Too many LED designs.

Why not pent roof and molykote piston on on XCD125/ just launched XCD135, how would present owners feel about higher technologies on latest models ? Do you think these are 6 months old break-through technologies ??

Fifth gear seems a good idea on a 100 cc machine for better spread of power maybe the bike will offer more top end for the highways. This is the Right time again to focus on smaller bikes because after recession hit us the sales of all the manufacturers focussing on bigger bikes 150 cc plus have stagnted and HH have increased.

Please dont ask, how Yamaha has doubled its sales?
