Looks kinda nice.although red graphics would look better.nice tail lights.the LED tail lamps have many plus points people. They last longer, they consume lesser power.
here people are cribbing over the fact that these upgrades weren't present in the 135 or 125. Come on people. Atleast they provided it now.

you got a problem with version upgrades? Why do you use windows on PC? Go back to MS-DOS. If you are using windows XP its probably the 5th version of windows itself which became popular. Vista being the 6th.

Do you see people complaining that now its going to be Microsoft windows 7 , 8 , 9 , and so on?

I still don't get what problem lies in them changing some little or major things in their engines and calling it v2.0 or something like that???

Have you seen how many upgrades these software people release? 6.6.8.9 and 6.6.9.0 and so on. theirs goes on upto the 4th decimal. Still that is acceptable to people. But a simple DTS-Si v2.0 is so hard to digest?

More important than packaging the product, Bajaj must also concentrate on marketing the bike. Most 100cc commuters blindly belive in HH bikes, they dont give damn to what ignition process system, what kind of material used in pistion or OH. Disco 100 is indedd very good package with proper pricing, but it needs do the trick to to attract the customers from 100cc segment.

So we need to see how bajaj markets and campaigns its re-entry in 100cc segment. I hope they dont claim fancy mileage figures again.
Yes indeed bajaj needs to make common commuters[the prospective buyers of this bike]realist the worth of all the new tech that goes into this bike and not just claim mileage figures in their Ads. They can make advertises that target the commuter class.

Bike looks quite tempting especially keeping the design and features in mind. And the Pricing is the icing on the cake. This is what Bajaj has been doing for years.I wonder why people have problem in accepting their strategy, now.It has worked well for them and it's really a great thing that people are getting to enjoy features at this segment which was never heard of. Bajaj surely deserve a pat on their back for giving the common man the real deal not some ludicrous sticker job.

ok it does have all features which no other had but bajaj has kept it atleast for 2 years so that in this segment buyers will have a goodwill against the product, but bajaj will never do that because they will be in ultra low margin profit for this due to all gizmos if they dont having required sales ,they just deletes it like we do daily "shift+del"

                  some thing from me

I have been reading this discussion and comments. Only one person mentioned correct things about discover molykote piston and oval pent roof combustion. These things are not used by any 2 wheeler manufacturer in india.

Molykote D-10 is an Anti-Friction Coating that is used as a long-term lubricating film on pistons used in gasoline and diesel engines, compressors, piston pumps, and hydraulic systems.

Oval Pent Roof Combustion Chamber for increasing charge density in propagation path to attain near full combustion with the lean fuel air ratios

if these things are there and bajaj R & D has done it proper then bike will give 80+ on road. Lets wait and watch. ARAI has given on road figure 89kmpl and 125km in std test conditions.

                  Cheers bajaj .........

You are right, Molykote coating and new combustion chamber may increase fuel efficiency and we need to wait and watch. Disc100 is actually projected as high mileage bike with tag 'World's most efficient bike'.

But I guess people just don't buy 'high mileage' even though it's an important factor. Splendor is bought for it's Durability, Low maintainence and reliability which also means better quality build, long lasting, high re-sale value, trouble free ownership etc etc

If mileage was a factor then CT100/Platina/XCD125 might have beaten HH's 100cc black n blue long time back. But Splendor and it's siblings still rule millions of hearts and it's not just b'cos of 'stunning mileage' but other factors mentioned above.

Lolz. Expected answer from u. Ur usual stuff these are!

Wat r u trying to convey there anyway?

That Bajaj bikes are not reliable/durable?
When everything comes ur way, u r in the wrong way ;)

Yep, that's a standard response.. but one also have to take in account that the Splendor is a 15 year old proven brand.. building a brand/reputation/and winning the faith among customers takes time.

I am positive that the strong 'Discover' Brand will help this product getting acceptance faster than 'high mileage claims'.. but eventually the product has to sell itself by proving itself over time. There is no short cut here.

Even though I give a damm for 100 cc bikes, I do hope this bike sells in huge numbers so that the company gets cash rich to develop a few mind blowing high performance bikes, before I get too old.

Yes/No, 'Yes' b'cos of bikes like CT100, 'NO' b'cos Boxer and caliber were far more reliable than HH 100cc range.

I don't agree with your criticism of the release of V2.0 at all. Infact I am against such criticism.
The whole post was a reply to your and others' comment about the V2.0.

It was not an assertive statement. It was a rhetorical question. I edited it now to make it more easy to understand.

DTS-Si V2.0 is a good move. This shows they are modifying their DTS-Si V1.0 to improve the product. Any mod be it small or big gives them the right to call the modified one as the next version.

Some people can crib about any little thing.Anything will do for them. Earlier it was the removal of FI, then the same Bajaj bashers continued their cribbing in the phase out of p200 thread saying it was a good bike[IMO you guys hated bajaj bikes...so why this sudden affection towards the p200??] and now here too with a thing as little as a tiny rats rear.

HEHEHEHE...fell off the chair reading that one...

I totally agree to what you say Pavan and honestly, I have started giving a damn to what many people are writing in here. Biased opinions and perceptions is a way of life for many. "This thing and any of its siblings is good because I have it...others are all useless junkyard destined pieces..." This is also called ownership induced brand affinity.

Just hope people would mature into seeing anything newly launched, in the true spirit, instead of bashing a product.
Never argue with an idiot. He will drag you down to his level and then beat you with experience.
