    @Vipin

    Why are you feeling shy of showing off your bike.I respect every machine irrespective of engine displacement. I know many people out here still think the other way and that's sad.

        FYI, I own a Bajaj Platina and I am not shy to tell it to others. Infact I am proud of the fact that I do such things with my bike which many of the Platina owners have never even thought of. I ride four times more than my friends who own those so-called higher capacity bikes.

          This bike can be indeed called as a tourer, puny engine notwithstanding. That is because this bike has ALL DC electricals. Fixing HID on this one is a child's play!

            satish : thanks for correcting me (I searched quite a bit and couldn't get it) ! nice to see few posts on Indian's popular bike !!

            moeed / thunder : What I meant was due to more discussions on higher cc bikes, lower cc owners may just shy away, I never said xbhp/someone is responsible for it....I see a bi-cycle section here, xbhp means even '0' bhp !! I like seeing moeed's 'loving' posts on his Platina To me 50cc biker is also a biker !!

            chicane : I was talking about my new achiever, it's more of a flop, ugly bike in general.....but I don't believe in such things, I searched for unsold new piece and bought it, I may shy away but the bike rocks, super silent Unicorn engine is the biggest asset, develops better LET than Unicorn !! Delivers better fuel efficiency than Unicorn !! And I just read Achiever can do 0-100 in 17.82secs (what is RTR160's figures?)

              somebody in the previous pages said that if the aam janta had moved to 150 cc then we would have bigger bikes. Most of the aam janta does not even know all the functions on their remote controls and cell phones. All they know is to operate the rudimentary functions. These people are the bigest trafic hazard in this country. People like to buy splendours because it was the first decent looking (for its time) AND milage giveing bike.

              As far as all the new tamjham in the bike is concerned, india is a country where jargons sell, People believe the more jargons the better the product.

              As far as disco 100 is concerned, I did not know what to say when I saw it. The guy wearing the 'discover the power of one liter' t shirt was talking to me in such a way that I should sell my 220 and buy the disco. "Sir, you are youngster, you have money, you will buy big bike. but responsible people will buy this bike. 80 kmpl sir. " exact words.

              However the bike is good for a 100 cc one.

                I agree with almost all the points which you have made. This sadly/apparently is the reason why our manufacturers are shying to take a big leap in the cc ladder game. And this is where HH is cashing on and is actually playing safe and eventually is getting bigger and bigger in the segment which they are famous for.

                Congrats for your achiever.The Unicorn mill is a gem of an engine.

                OT: And btw,please set aside the Overdrive magazine of yours.The timing was a typo.How do you expect a 3 seconds jump in the timing over Unicorn with just a slight change of gear ratios.

                      Congratulations, buddy! 85 in the city is awesome, to say the least.

                      BTW, according to Rajiv Bajaj, 50K discovers were sold in the month of August! That is a very good beginning for the bike, IMO.

                          That's good man! Had they launched this bike a year earlier, I would have bought it. I extracted 100 km/l from my platina while riding in the city. Don't know how far will the discover go if I ride it.

                            @above

                            i swear the bike is quite a head turner and it seems to be a vfm from bajaj.
                            i think the years best entry (100 cc) bike so far.
                            features like :
                            5 speed transmission
                            nitrox gas filled suspension
                            electric start
                            longer rear wheel base and
                            stunning 80 kmpl mileage proves bajaj s strategic success atlast.

                            hopefully waiting for the xcd sprint 125 cc. bajaj could have launched the sprint instead of xcd 135cc.
                            i feeel discover s gonna rock in 100 cc
                            pulsar in 150+ cc
                            and may be if they launch the xcd sprint by this year end it will occupy 125cc making bajaj the real "distinctly ahead". thanks for the 'STARS AHEAD" team.
