@Niks: Exclusivity? What exclusivity are we talking about here? There are ENOUGH P200s already on the roads. And with the phasing out of the machine, the re-sale value is going to plummet!

Upturn? It's going downwards, sir! Either I sell it off right-away, or risk keeping it and selling it, say, 1 year down the line for a meagre amount!Originally posted by ken cool View Post

Dude, the difference cc need not be so obvious like u said for one to point out!! Even 10 leave that even 5 cc will definitely make a difference technically when u compare two bikes. 220 is just 20 cc ahead of 200 but u know what a 220 is capable of with just 20 cc and a added Fi, just think of 200 and 180 in that way dude!Originally posted by niks_devil666 View PostIf it exists in 180's form , how have we lost it ? and whts with the 180 is 180 man ... it seems you are comparing a 100cc with a 200cc ?
But yes , if thread is a mourning thread for previous p200 owners then yes , "Its a shame that the p200 is discontinued".
I for one am happy that p180 and p220 got great upgrades. And now that 200 is phased out , people can't criticise BAL for 10-20cc upgrades.
I'm too happy about the 180 getting upgrades, and btw whose not??? Every one is... just that there will be milestone missing in between!Whenever there is a Rainbow in the sky, I know it's u mastering the art of Cornering. U will always be remembered brother, R.I.P Arun.

All the Bikes are Meant to be Phased out.....
Since this is the nature of nature.......
P200 was a superb bike from Bajajs stable......But we have more power and more Attractive p220 in the same price of 200......
We all should welcome Bajaj's Move...and i know this is SAD for all P200 owners.....Once upon a time i was also a 200 owner

I have mixed feelings about this.
I was one of the very first customers of the P200 in Bangalore. I think BAL botched up a very good platform.
They got the styling absolutely spot on IMHO. I think its the meanest looking Pulsar till date. Very Aggressive - I still love its looks. But handling was cr4p. The increased turning radius, the slightly lazy engine (I believe the 180 was quicker from 0-60, though the 200 was quicker as speeds built up), the ridiculous reliability in the first two batches , the numerous parts replacement - like the front suspension barrel forks etc - all of them were very well documented in public.
I think BAL didn't get the strategy right in this "in-between" slot - the slot between 180 and 220. A good concept spoilt by meaningless ideas.
The good thing is - they have decided to retire it. Thats good coz it was definitely an odd man out after all these new bikes have been announced.
RIP.

good clever move
many people were criticizing BAL for toooo many variants in their any series
so its good that they phase out some
anyways i dont think availability of parts is gonna be any problem
this is a proper successful year for bajaj in terms of advancement in technology and business
i hope they continue like this
my best wishes with them

two very true things spoken in this thread.
1. the p200 IS one of the best looking bikes in the country
2. the resale of any discontinued vehicle only drops.
bajaj got themselves into this mess by having 10-15-20cc jumps in capacity, and that too at the same time. so trimming down the excess was only inevitable. i think in the current scenario, 100cc-125cc-150cc-180cc-220cc is the absolute limit to the number of variants. and of course 'cheats' like the rtr are well allowed since they don't have a 150. unless of course you're HH, in which case you can have 15 different models (read colour/sticker schemes) of the same 100cc bike!
anyway, a sad day for the p200 and a kinda good day for indian biking.

+1Originally posted by Thunder View PostI believe Discover 135 will be thier Next in cards for Phasing out......coz there is no reason of having two bikes in Same segment.....that too Disco has only 4gears and prices higher than of XCD......
yeah with the XCD being upgraded, and the disco 100 being launched, its definitely discover 135's turn to face the axe..
PERSEVERE... failure is not an option!

i am not a big fan of pulsar
, but i like p200 because of way the it looks and the power it generates.it looks vibrant than p220.P200 was the best looking bike in the whole pulsar family , its hard to believe that bajaj have eliminated it out of their way.the best looking part of p200 was its tank cowl and itz exhaust. it was damn good man.

^^ +1. Am proud to be the owner of the now exclusive P200
ahhh.. I booked my bike without even taking a test-ride or checking out the specs. I went to the Dealer to book the Unicorn and there she was standing in BLACK and right @ that moment I changed my decision and booked the beautiful-beast P200.
