its an FI, i do not think it will have reserve. i could be wrongOriginally posted by Sarvajit View PostMy take: 300kms.by the time it comes to reserve.
Basis for calculation: Tank capacity: 17L, 2L reserve.
Mileage 50mpg=21kmpl acc.to Ninja forums.
So I took it as 20kmpl*15lts.=300kms.&you would have about 20kms.to look for the nearest ExtraPremium/ any other 91 octane stocking petrol pump. Atleast one litre must be left in the tank, coz its fuel injected&the pump needs that minimum quantity of fuel in it, to avoid problems.

The bike has a low fuel indicator which starts blinking once you have 4litre fuel left.

As far as adventure touring to remote places is concerned, i think range would be the last thing on the mind. with this riding posture and soft compound tires ( I expect that with both R15 and Pulsar 220 having them) being of more concern. The concern is not of the riding posture/stance/tyres. The Ninja has the same seat height of 790mm.&caster angle of 26 degrees as the R15.Originally posted by dhairya View Postits an FI, i do not think it will have reserve. i could be wrong
I have been using the R15 for all kinds of touring&have never had an issue with it. My last tour involved heavy off roading too.
The issue is with the ground clearance of the vehicle, which prevents us from getting adventurous in off-roading.
Filling fuel bit is fine though, range is ok to me coz my R15 gives me about 430kms.to a full tank before coming to reserve.
And yes, Fi bikes do not have reserve/petrol on/off knob, but there is an indication that the bike is going into reserve-the R15's odo creates a separate tripmeter after the last dot starts blinking. The Ninja having an analog dash I donno how it would show us that.Quench my thirst with gasoline!
