The carb version has a fuel indicator. There is a low fuel light though. You know Bajaj could have rigged up one of their electronic consoles on the Ninja though...

Ok thanks for the info much appreciate it

          Also just found out:
No free service 1st service at 1000 km, 2nd at 6000km.
There is an engine break-in period: 0-700kms No exceeding 4000 rpm
          700-1600kms No exceeding 6000 rpm
Once I get my ninja am sure I'll die before its 1600kms

No fuel level indicator for FI version, just a light indicator to show that only reserved petrol is left. So there wont be any info abt the petrol left in the bike before going for a small journey.....

No such luck this time. Will have to wait longer till there are more bikes on the road and I get to test one. I had my chance to go to Pune. I could not.
The Wheel was a great invention; Two Wheels with a Motor in between was even better!

              • Hey, just came back from the CP Delhi showroom and had a look and feel of the Ninja 250R... I went to see how the black looks (btw the CP PBK does not have it on display) but I got smitten by the green color - it is simply awesome. I will now definitely go for the mean green when it launches in Bangalore...

Bandhav was very helpful with showing me around the Ninja and we also revved the bike till 4000 rpm - the exhaust note sounds unmistakably like a twin cylinder, which it is. For people who have the money to buy, but are waiting for 'something better', my advice is: Just buy the Ninja 250R and forget about anything else. It looks much bigger (and better) in flesh than in the pictures, is very practical/comfortable (near-neutral riding position), and should go pretty quick too. I truly believe you will not get this kind of value from any other 250 in the market, present and future, from whatever little I know of the motorcycling world. Read the xbhp review again if are still not convinced.

My only grouse is that Bajaj is not selling these bikes in Bangalore - am waiting eagerly till the time it does, and then I am going to hit the nearest ATM for the booking amount...

And thanks Bandhav for today! Nice meeting up and chatting up with you - will catch up sometime soon again!

ps: For the lucky buggers who have already booked the Ninja's, get a cool looking tank pad soon otherwise you will scratch the tank paint before you can say Ninja. DSG online has a good collection - so this should be easy.
And any mechanical adjustment vis after market parts (like the Yoshi clip-on I was dreaming of) will immediately void your warranty, so just stick to visual mods for 24 months.

                    • Bangalore should be around 1-2 more months, I guess. The reason the have not launched the Ninja there is because they don't have a proper probiking showroom...

I have also checked in Bajaj's website... Khivraj's name has also been removed from probiking list..... So no probiking showrooms in Bangalore according to Bajaj.

                        • But I would rather wait for Bajaj to open a proper (and company owned) Probiking showroom in Bangalore than buying it from Khivraj...

It will not, that's why I am going to do a lot of touring when I buy this bike...that is the only way I can enjoy it.
