i am not making any fuss, its my views on absence of fuel guage.Originally posted by bluevolt View PostDon't get so fussed by the lack of fuel gauge (though it would have been ideal); my RE never had one but I have done 2000km+ kind of tours without ever running out of fuel.
After a month of riding the Ninja, I bet you will get used to it and know even before the 'low fuel' light comes up
BTW what is the reserve fuel capacity.
Ninja would still be in my fav list. Any ways you are here na to give test ride to fellow BLR XBhpians

dont have much idea on that, i think you can book the bike from Pune(pay ex showroom + ins. charges) and ride on Temp reg no. till Blr and pay the road tax/reg charges here in Blr.Originally posted by vinfreak View PostAnyone knows if we can get a bike frm Pune with a Temp Reg and get it registered permanently in Blore? Any inputs will be appreciated.
But did you happen to read the news on Times Of India a couple of months back, it said that the bikes from outside Karnataka registration need not pay the road tax again here. So you can workout either way.
Might be Blue Volt can comment on this as he is hunting for Ninja outside Blr.Last edited by Reuterian; 10-15-2009, 08:37 PM.

If I heard Bandhav yesterday correctly at the Delhi PBK, he said that the low fuel indicator comes on when the fuel tank level falls below 4 litres. So that's more than enough time to give your thirsty bike a drink before she faints!Originally posted by Reuterian View Posti am not making any fuss, its my views on absence of fuel guage.

Well, I have been riding a Royal Enfield with a Haryana registration in Bangalore for the last four years and I have never got stopped by a cop for that - though I have been challaned for wrong parking in busy markets and stuff like that. I have no hassles buying a Ninja from Pune, the only thing is since there is no PBK showroom in Bangalore, I have to ride down to chennai for the first two services, which will be a pain.Originally posted by Reuterian View Postdont have much idea on that, i think you can book the bike from Pune(pay ex showroom + ins. charges) and ride on Temp reg no. till Blr and pay the road tax/reg charges here in Blr.

Though I have heard about the entry tax thing in Bangalore, it is still pretty ambigious... But what Reuterian has suggested is the thing to do if you want to ride your Bike in Bangalore tension free, with a KA license plate!

OT, but I have an interesting thing to share.Originally posted by bluevolt View PostDon't get so fussed by the lack of fuel gauge (though it would have been ideal); my RE never had one but I have done 2000km+ kind of tours without ever running out of fuel.

Once the fuel in the tank becomes low on bullets, they start crying for food. I mean, the valve clatter becomes higher. On REs the fuel tank muffles the engine noise when it is full.
Maybe the ninja will do the same.
Cheers,
Jay

but bookings... bookings have already begun at the Bombay Probiking Showrooms.
It's about 8 grand cheaper in New Bombay.
Hey xionite, I am the 1st person to book the bike in the whole of Mumbai
. I booked the ninja on 10th october at kanjurmarg probiking at 9:45 am they just opened up then. And the coincidence is I live in Navi Mumbai. The Manager of probiking in Kanjurmarg has assured me the bikes will come in max one month. However in Vashi probiking it is gonna take 2-3 months. This also was confirmed by the Vashi manager who had a word with the bajaj officials who had come down yesterday. I was personally introduced by the manager of Probiking Vashi as the first Ninja customer in Mumbai
.

"We are awaiting a Trade certificate from RTO Pune which we will get only by wednesday next week. Hence we apologize for we have not been able to deliver the bikes this festive season. After we get the certificate, the deliveries shall follow."
I hope it doesnt go on and on this way!!

Hey Thanks Asutosh if the trade certificate for pune comes up so will Mumbai follow soon as Pune RTO and Mumbai RTO are a little on the harsh side on passing new bikes.
. This clears up a lot... Ashutosh I am ur fan now

You can get it services from either Khivraj MG Road/IndiraNagar or AutoService in Banashankari. They are PBK service centers and Yes, Khivraj is PBK showroom just that it is not a PBK showroom owned by Bajaj.Originally posted by bluevolt View PostI have no hassles buying a Ninja from Pune, the only thing is since there is no PBK showroom in Bangalore, I have to ride down to chennai for the first two services, which will be a pain.

Technically yes, but the showroom is not owned by Bajaj and the difference shows. Looks run down and the attitude of the guys there sucks. Bangalore is not even listed on the list of probiking showrooms on Bajaj auto's website.Originally posted by jayprashanth View PostIsn't Khivraj a PBK showroom?

I bet that if I gave my Ninja to those guys, they will tell me to collect it the next day and in the meanwhile have a go on the bike with their girlfriends...
