      • I am actually pissed off with this whole charade. When they say that it will be launched today, it should be present in the showroom. I had registered my name with the probiking outlet 1 month back as interested customer but still they are unable to provide any details and to think that it is one of the most awaited bike for a long long time.

In fact, I had held on to my eliminator of 2001, waiting for this bike to launch, have money ready, willing to pay immediately but still cold shoulder.
Never argue with an idiot. He will drag you down to his level and then beat you with experience.

              • Big Koshun: Is the PBK service network geared up to handle the service needs of the Ninja? Have the mech's been trained?

If not then I wud'nt advise anyone buying this bike, unless they themselves are ready to wear a grease monkey cap!

I guess in that case it would not have been called a 'launch by Bajaj' at all. People would import it from some country and ride the bike. Logically, Bajaj must be equipped in selected service centers for the service of the bike. At least thats what I think.

                    • These sort of bikes , do not require any big maintainence like other bikes do.

1.2 yrs with R15 , its just filter cleaning , oil filter replacement, spark plug replacement , tappet adjustment. cleaning the discs.
                      This doesn require rocket science.
No touching the Fi unit , no nothing at all.

The oly thing that worries me is the 135 mm ground clearance . Its a recipe for disaster when u meet the road humps.

Logic fails when it comes to Bajaj's grand launches... I guess you were not around when "Bajaj" launched their own 220 Fi...

@Santa: I do agree that these bikes come with longer service intervals and longer component lives, but at some point of time they will need a service. And you know how 'competent' the PBK concept is...

More over Indian riding conditions are a bit harsher so they will need a little more attention than what the PBK's currently give to each bike during service!

In that case buddy I can say its my wishful thinking when I talk about availability of the service stations conveniently. Hope the wish comes true

The question is not whether they are equipped or not, it is how well they can handle the service issues!

                            Precisely. These bikes are fuss-free&tough.

+100 to that. I guess off-roading is out of question on touring.

I agree wholeheartedly bro. Maybe my waiting for some months will be good to gauge whether they are handling the bike well!

                            • I'll wait and watch until a detailed ownership thread comes up. A few months later if it is proven that PBK can indeed not mess these bikes up, and if the kmpl is good, I'll pick up a 2nd hand
