how is it badly designed , in what aspect ? any review ? have you ever ridden a ninja 250 or seen any in person ? . the ninja is much more practical than the race replicas and is one of the most sold model by nos abroad . If it was so bad it wouldnt sell right ? .

seems a case of sour grapes from Yammie fan

the Ninja also costs around 2 lakhs there . the difference there betwwen Ninja and R6 is more than double the price .

Another thing to Note is that this bike is quite comfortable also and has power spread over a larger band than the peaky r15 engine .

    • Had seen the 250 at the auto expo and since then i have been waiting for it.
True 3 lakhs is pretty high price to pay. But come to think of it, the next bike up the price ladder is 10+ lakhs which can be afforded by very few. So, simply put, this is the best deal most of us can hope to get as of now. There is simply nothing in this price range which can give as much performance, lineage, style and brand bragging rights. So whether its 2.5 or 3.5 on road, we have no option .If you don't put your money on the ninja, what will you put it on !!! A santro

Well I am sure Yamaha are nt gonna sit idle thru this and we can expect a neat crotch rocket comming out of the Yamaha paddocks.

bigger discs , fatter tyres , bigger bike feel , split seats are the other stuff.

What were you expecting from the ninja?
          Well said !!

well if that happens than we bikers are the ones that gain .instead of baselessly critising the Ninja appreciate that it has come . if it didnt then yamaha may never think of also getting a higher cc bike .

              • I have a funny feeling here. The competition is already lined up.

The first one to compete with the new Baby Ninja would be the new ZMA..at least that is what most common public would say. Moreover, due to the comparatively low cost of the ZMR and the legendary HH reliability, smoothness, full fairing, no maintenance, solid service, comparable performance, more economy and resale value, it would completely trounce the unreliable, hopeless looking, Bajaj built, harsh engined, 220 parts borrowed Baby Ninja

                • I really hope lots of rich people buy this bike and so at least some of the bikes come down to the seconds market.

That would be the only way I'd get my hands on this.
Not to forget, this bike has an established performance-parts list abroad. The options for tuning this bike would be immense indeed!

I might be an ardent Yamaha fan but that should not blind me into not appreciating a good machine. And this ninja is one mean green machine with the colour even to make someone go 'Green' and we all know what that clour signifies dont we!!?!?

                    Peace

It might be true actually.... real things will fall out only when the Ninja 250 rolls out of Bajaj warehouses (if CBU)..... will it be Bajaj quality in Ninja 250??

Add to it the comparison (rumored) Fazer 250cc..... this was bound to happen.

Am I writing crap...... lets hope it is.

What!! Only 10 kmph extra. Ninja 250 top b/w 160/170 kmph, that makes it 20+ more

                        • @niks_devil666: 3 questions:
                          1. Did they confirm it is a CKD? According to the last press release they said it would be CBU.

                          2. What internal changes have been done to the silencer? Has the note been toned down to suit Indian 80 db norms? Can we have a pic of the same?

                          3. How come the rear tyre is 140 section when International spec is 110 front&130 rear?

But.... for 20kmph more.... cost is 3x(P220)+something more..... but you get a true sports bike ...which will surely be beaten (in some time) by the likes of some other international manufacturer (read Yamaha/Honda).... hope that will happen and we get a wide choice of 250cc bikes under 3Lakhs .... am I asking too much too early.

                            • A good bike finally seems like it is making it to the showrooms soon!! Ive personally seen the Ninja last year in the states and it is quite a looker..and definitely has the "big" feel to it compared to bikes available here..I also read somewhere in this discussion about the Ninja being a beginners bike abroad and that people use to learn riding on and then throw it away...that is partly true but that does, in no way, mean that the Ninja is an inferior bike compared to other bikes..for goodness sake, almost all the 250cc bikes come under the beginners category...including the legendary Aprilia RS125 and 250 strokers!!
And thinking about the competition lined up for the kwacker from Yamaha and Honda..I dont really think that either of these companies have a faired 250 sports bike..I might be wrong but as far as I know there are'nt any..atleast from Yamaha Im sure..but I believe Yamaha is working on a 250 sports bike if the international rumours are to be believed...and for Honda India..you guys might be a lil surprised when their rumoured bigger bike hits the showrooms here..hehe..Im not saying anything more :P ..cheers

                                I dont see the pics??
According to the MoU they had with Kawasaki for the earlier products, Bajaj was a manufacturing unit for the Kawasaki bikes and hence it had the rights to alter and modify the bikes they would be selling in India with certain Kawasaki equipment under the technical collaboration.

The Kawasaki 250R Ninja will be a CKD, which means Bajaj will only have the rights to assemble the bike and sell it in India. It won't be allowed to make any technical changes to the product without an approval from Kawasaki.
