As for the analog-vs-digital goes, I do like the features offered by the humble Indian bike RTR and wished something on the same lines could have been there. But then, once can always install a Sigma Sport bike comp on the ride, couldn't they?? The good models come within USD 50, so not much of a big deal.

@niks: absolutely agree with you, it is being underestimated...
every1 is talking about digital vs analogue........ comparing with watches....... then pls have a look at Timex Expedition series which is analogue and far better than any digital series even to start with....... there are far better analogue watches........
the digital console is like toppings on ice-cream........ we want a good bike with good lookin console to match its look........ does it matter so much that we choose a bike based on its console or the performance figure.......

the people who call it a beginners bike are the people living outside India, people who are riding the likes of a minimum 600CC sumthing.
But the MCN statement will fit perfectly in India...
@ALL: Analog console rocks for me, nothing like seeing a rising & roaring hand moving 180*+ sumthing towards the higher end speed mark...Last edited by spiderweb; 08-21-2009, 07:54 PM.

I think this is completely invalid. there is no point in comparing analog vs digital consols unless you have a specific parameter like accuracy or precision, etc. we all have seen well designed analog consols and similarly well designed digital displays. on the other hand if it comes to ruining it...digital consols can look bad aswell if not designed or manufactured in a proper way.Originally posted by pads View Postwelcome to xbhp sabka_baap........ first post & that too at Baby-Ninja........

The all digital display of the desmosdicci RR does apeal to me since its fucused on giving information instead of visual attraction.
apart from that 3Lakhs seems to be ok since the bike wont me manufactured in India like the R15 is. For a bike made outside, i think with the performance figure this ride comes along, its completely acceptable.Just because you haven't seen it doesnt mean its impossible...expect the unexpected.

Adude, fyi, the reverse equation will also work if that 100cc bike is a screamer which can rev to 15k rpm and yet run a minimum of 40k miles without an engine rebuild. (it means the quality of the manufacturing process and the manufactured item). Not just that. The most important factor is the sales figure. If the 100 cc bikes are manufactured only in the number of a litre bike, then that would sing the same price. The price of the product when manufactured in very high numbers goes down drastically.Originally posted by abhijeet080808 View PostWhile I support the pricing of 3L, if only because it is caused due to taxes and not because Bajaj decided to inflate the price tag and take us for a ride, have you looked at your equations backward?
1000cc bike = 12L
250cc bike = 3L
150cc bike = 1.8L
100cc bike 1.2L
Now? Sane? Ofcourse these prices are insane, only stop blaming Bajaj/Kawa. If we buy these bikes in droves, Bajaj may just start building these beauties in India and bring prices down to sane level! So, folks buy out these first few lots and enjoy the solid Japanese (actually Thai) quality!
We, poor folks may then just hope to get a similar twin cylinder bike at sane prices, a year or 2 down the road.
In india, 100cc rule the market. If ninja is going to sell as much as hero honda splendor, then it might cost just 1.2lakh on road.
for ex, a normal bending process for a sheet metal can be done in hand, or via a bending machine or via a v cut bending machine.the manual bending would cost a few hundred where as v cut bending would cost a bomb. Reason, ? That machine cost 4~5 crores (20 times more than a normal one), gives a top quality output. So to manufacture a quality product, you need a machine with that capacity.
the cost of the machine also has to be recovered from selling the product. I hope this makes sense for the high price of bigger capacity machines

Though i got my 220 carb looking at ONLY the performance figures..Last edited by antz.bin; 08-21-2009, 11:57 PM.Advice is a form of nostalgia.

most international pics have d ninja with a rear seat cover (to go with the seat cowl i guess)
now that the seat's green and the cowl's black what will these guys do?
wonder if a black will look better on the green bike..
(i.e. if they are offerin the seat cover in d first place)....

That's due to the power difference. Unfortunately, this uses a tubular spine frame, and I can't say how good it will be under the spotlight of sportbike standards of handling . Suspension plays a part too , but this doesn't have high spec suspension either.Originally posted by nitrosatya View PostThis bike will kick the backside of R15 and 220s in the twisties or Lavasa ghats!
Wait and watch .....hope BAL will let me do the alpha testing on Mutha-Lavasa for a month.Man will occasionally stumble over the truth, but most of the time he will pick himself up and continue on.

Ok here come my few paisas...
the bajaj may ~ make sure more than few things before they launch baby ninja..
1)though the baby ninja will act as a big brother of the "p220 carb"(sorry for not calling it a fastest indian
) at the same the bajaj will make sure it doesnt kill/affect the sales of the "p220 carb".
2)to launch baby ninja..bajaj will look for the heat in the market..they can speculate better than us regarding the lauch of other manufacturers(yamaha) bike's.
anyway i/we would be very happy if they gift us a baby ninja for diwali...this would force the other players to keep up with the competition
no comments on the pricing...if its goina be CBU we needa accept that 3L+ price tag !Last edited by VijayKrishna; 08-22-2009, 09:20 AM.
