What I want to know is.. I know the exacts specs aren't out yet.. But what'll be the approximate power output..?? How many bhp????

shed some light on this ppl...
Dude, most probably it will be the CKD thailand edition so.. 33bhp (most probably -2 due to cat con)
Advice is a form of nostalgia.
Dispensing it is a way of fishing the past from the disposal, wiping it off, painting over the ugly parts and recycling it for more than it's worth.

    • The FI version kicks out around around 30PS - 2008 Kawasaki Ninja 250R: Updated specs , new pics
The exhaust is different on this bike and ofcourse Bajaj might have done something to meet the Indian norms. The bike should still deliver around 28 horses. Atleast!

The increase in performance is directly proportional to the size of the hole in your pocket :D

So I think you can knock about 5-10% off your estimate.
Does that mean that the base price that I took was wrong and 1.4 lakh INR is not the price of ninja 250 in US? I think we must also look at purchasing power parity when comparing prices with other countries. sort of like even though McDonald's serves the same burger the world over, yet there's a huge difference between the price in India and the price in US. So much so that the price of a McD burger has almost become a pretty accurate and relevant indicator of the comparative purchasing power of a country.
And with the downturn setting in, there must be a drop in kawa's sales. I hope the biggies at kawa see this as an opportunity to boost their sales by entering a potentially huge market and so, decide to supply these babies to bajaj at a neat cut!

                      • IMHO ninja @ 3L more or less is expensive but it makes sense and real sense, for ninja @ around 27-30 Bhp power figure is more than usable in relevance to India where finding good road to drive can get nerve rackingly annoying (ask me I live in Central India). So for reasons like this one shall agree with me that spending 3L on a bike which can give a quarter of the fun and excitment as compare to a liter class and still it is much more practical here and in addition to that it looks fabulous too except the speedo for me.

Though i reserve my opinion on the built quality for i have always come across owners who had the same issues with the built quality. But If the Quality is right then Heck yeah this could be the best all rounder and before saying that its too pricey we must not forget that at the debut of the YAMAHA R15 every other person out their said that its too much for a puny 150cc bike , but believe me guys, this bike gives your all money back with interest and with love and excitement.

So IMHO its worth it any day if only the built quality is up to the mark or else its just a nail in the wood

                          • IMHO, Ninja will be priced well below 2.5Lacs. Bajaj has always tried it's best to keep the prices on the competitive side. And a slight compromise in quality was always present. So we should happily accept the Ninja with those small niggles(read: old fashioned analogue disp) if it is priced reasonably!
