I don't think here it will be make much of a difference. Either it would be sufficiently detuned to take the kind of petrol available in our country. Or it will have Octane sensors!Originally posted by Sarvajit View Post

Confusion is: Ninja forums say fill minimum 87 octane petrol, which is of RON no.91 or higher.Originally posted by ken cool View PostI don't think here it will be make much of a difference. Extra Premium/Speed seems to fit the bill well. It is of octane no.87 (anti-knock no.)&RON (Research Octane No.91), whereas the regular petrol is also of 87 octane&88 or 89 RON no.
Hope you understood why I'm asking this-if we are filling EP/Speed always&fill in normal fuel on a highway would it affect the machine? Given the 17 litre fuel tank&approx.50 mpg mileage range of the tank, I put a refill at about 300kms.considering 2 lts.left in reserve&20kmpl approx.mileage!
I guess these things are too early to discuss-I will post a few things in the Fuels thread as well for more clarity on octane nos.!Quench my thirst with gasoline!

lets just get the bike firstOriginally posted by Kishan View PostDoes any one like the exhaust sound of the Ninja.

i have seen several videos and the exhaust sound is really horrible.
But some videos on the youtube suggest that we can change the exhaust too ..

India is a Booming Market.Originally posted by sam92 View Postlets just get the bike first
After the R1's and the Busa'zz being sold in gud numbers. There is no point to say that ninja cannot be launched here in India.
It is all a matter of time. The more delay they are making the more costumers they are losing for the rivals.

The only reason is that if it was a 2 stroke.
But ninja is a 4 stroke .... but i can't figure out why the sound is different.
Not smooth ...but rather disturbing ...

I guess the cylinders fire at uneven intervals. Hence the rumbling sound. P220 with a bit more bass.Originally posted by Kishan View PostThe only reason is that if it was a 2 stroke.

But like in RD, the piston fires when other is at the bdc. Hence a smooth howl like the four cylinder sportsbikes.

It does fire at an uneven interval. The crankshaft has it's throws 180 degrees apart, when one piston is at TDC, the other will be at BDC. And it's a four stroke, so the cylinders fire only every second rotation of the camshaft. This causes the second cylinder to fire half a crankshaft rotation after the first. Thus the sound, two exhaust pulses in quick succession.Originally posted by nitrosatya View PostI guess the cylinders fire at uneven intervals. Hence the rumbling sound. P220 with a bit more bass.
