Completely agreed. I too wanted to convey that. Just some one quoted that in Saudi the ninja is being sold for 2.2 lakh INR and hence a price of 3 lakh here is acceptable. That can be accepted only if saudi has no import duties at all.
prices vary based on the economic situation of each country.
I would also like to quote that the comet was sold here as CBU for 1.8 lakh when the Korean price tag was 2500 dollars. Hence a ninja with 4k$ price tag should cost 2.8lakh approx in CBU mode.
Now why every body are blindly accepting a price tag of 3 lakh. I don't understand. I think its because of all the exitement.
Even with most bloated pricing, the Ninja must not cost more than 2.2 max. With 2.2 itself bajaj could make some considerable profit. So no point in telling that a company runs on charity.
Now i feel bajaj might be watchin this thread, and all ppl who are just supporting a 3 lakh price tag are just going to end up bloating the price of ninja. This is also a strategy which are being used by companies. This saves a lot of time for the companies to do survey or indulge manpower in companies expense.
I have a fair exposure to pricing/ marketing, since am in a manufacturing base. Ppl wit similar exposure would accept or can correct if some thing is amiss.

See dude, this is about something called common sense. Cribbing about the price on some random biking forum isn't going to help. It won't make the bike cheaper.Originally posted by NitinGirish View PostDid I ask you for advice? Or is this your part-time profession in trying to make money for Ninja
And you dont even know how to read a thread, quote another member's post! Like a tabolid journalist you quote people out of context and babble whatever little you know.
The lines that you have quoted is meant to be sarcastic. What I meant was people like you who work hard, earn a lot and would touch Rahul Bajaj's feet in gratitude for bringing Ninja, if you guys buy it now, we maybe able to afford it later. You know enuf demand, localization that route.
What my logic is amply explained, if you care to read properly. I was making a point to convey comparing prices based on just currency conversions is stupid. Anybody with any background in Finance or Economics will know.
But then for people like you and your flock so immersed in the feeling of gratitude towards Bajaj for bringing it here, sense would just not get in. Its like playing a piano in front of a buffalo.
P.S: I am out of this thread for good. Rahul Bajaj aapka bhala karen
Why don't you understand that the pricing of Ninja doesn't matter? It doesn't matter if its 2 Lakh or 2.5 Lakh. What matters is the competition that follows after its launch. Other big players (Honda, Yamaha, Suzuki, etc.) will be launching their bigger bikes and we'll have many more options to choose from. Now that wasn't so difficult to understand, was it?
And please point out where I praised Bajaj. I'm dying to know.Last edited by Sava; 08-27-2009, 01:06 PM.

yes yes. They might be very well be going through our(all sites) heated arguements regarding pricing of ninja and take this as an input for their pricing near 3lakh mark. Our pricing speculations might actually increase the price of the product . Lets wait and see, in the mean time let me try contacting my contacts in Bajaj. Last time in the speculations thread, i told bajaj is doing some test with the ninja and now it is evident with the changes in the exhaust. Let me see what i can catch this time. Hope some news is out.Originally posted by shrinathrao View PostI had a visit yesterday to ambe bajaj and one more bajaj pro bike dealer showroom in baner and both the dealer told me that till date they have no idea about the prices, as the company officials are still in deciding mode about pricing, so more details will be disclosed next month
