^Now there's a great bike for our roads...price this around the Ninja mark and hopefully we will have pricing wars which will benefit us bikers.

Strangely, there is very little news about this 'R4' on the net. Tried googling it but only vague results come up... anyone got a good link for this?

EDIT : Someplace on the net people are saying this image is a photoshop job on the R6. Also, for a bike with this much tech (twin discs + race spec USD suspension + etc etc) we can forget about it being in Ninja price range.

Oh well... I have a P200. Will continue with it.

Well the Bike India write up said they would have more dope on this in the next issue. So i guess lets just wait and brace ourselves for the info.

Yes Yamaha! Yamaha is really into serious business... and due to it the other rivals are running hard for their money... take an example when R15 was launched last year... it became the fastest bike in India. Then it made Bajaj to play their cheap strategy of removing the FI and cutting down the cost... which I am sure most of you reading out this.. will think its good that we get a 220cc in 70K Ex-showroom price. They claimed now that they have the fastest Indian.. but they could not last long as after 3-4 days.. Yamaha launches their racing kit... Now Bajaj out of the pressure is rolling out their Ninja... which I think is the world class bike but Bajaj... they just made it the worthless bike at 3lacs pricing... and the fantastic (reading awful) speedometer...
Yamaha rocks... and thanks to the people behind it... small request from all R15 owners... please don't think of competition so much that one day you will not be more concern about your existing products... R15 is the world class bike and nothing comes near to it... keep it uplifting...and running...

Guys, the bike launched would be 2009 R1. I'm 99.99% sure. Look at the tyres contact patch....

Look at what Bike India confirmed for India release, the tyres:-->

Here is the 2009 R1's pic:-->

No other bike matches this, Not 2009 R6, Not v-Max, not 2009 FZ1....

Nothing except the 2009 R1...

& If this is true, it will cost some 13+ Lacs and we won't be thanking Yamaha for such absurdity...
R15 was worth thanking though. & my funds still are at some 5-6 L for an Official Bike...

as per bike India, there are no plans of a 250cc till now. they also mentioned one of the world's fastest production bike, it could be one of the big ones like the R1 or R6 as they have also roped in John Abraham for the brand

So Yamaha wont bring out any 220 or 250cc bike soon....mmm tat means 2 things as per my optimism goes towards Yamaha.

1. We simply wait n watch and then see what they upto.

2. Since almost all the Manufacturers are going for something near 200cc may be Yamaha tunes up there current bike, bring some cosmetic change

, and then sell it in competition to the bikes of 200 or more cc.

Well being a Yammy fan, we all know what potential they have it in them so les see.

Thanks... By "one of the fastest", they mean around 300 kmph Top end, which is maximum speed a new Japanese can go... R1 fits that criterion!

After all, its not a "Ghar ki Business", where they can just fit 09' R1's tyres on other bikes, and sell them.

I'm sure its the R1..

What is still left to be seen is the 09' R1's pricing... 13L? 12L? or maybe some CKD...

Two of thier Bigger bikes are already selling here....
So there is no surprise if R1 2009 edition is available here.....

All we need is R6 or Fazer 250....Which can compensate the speed enthusiats according to our road conditions..... May be this is not gonna happen in Near future..

folks my friend told me its a v max ! yes its a 200 ps bike and the fastest production bike, @samarth check it v max tires also same !

@ Pulsar Flame: Though, On a close look, V-Max has more treads on the pattern than R1's tyres. And the BI image looks more like R1's tyres...

But of course, it is quite close. And I'm open minded. So, R1 or V-Max. Let's see...
