Yes indeed its a V-Max & there is a surprise in Fazer/FZ series,i dont know if i should reveal whats a surprise in the Fazer & FZ series because Yamaha dealers are gonna kill me for revealing such a information. Also there is a upgrade on one of the 106cc bike G5/Alba(i dont think if anyone of us is intrested in this one). One more information that V-Max is going to cost a whooping 27-29lacs.

"BIKE India has learnt that Yamaha India is close on the heels of launching one of the fastest production bikes in the world. Yes, as shocking as this may sound, we have confirmed reports of the Japanese manufacturer planning to roll out a new motorcycle in the country which will be based on its DNA concept of style, design and tremendous performance. The bike is slated to be launched officially around the upcoming festive season. At this moment though, we can’t share more details on the model or its price.
Contrary to the rumours floating on the internet across websites and biking forums, Yamaha is not getting the 250cc Fazer to India any time soon. There are many reasons for this. The first being that the current single cylinder motor of the Fazer or the YBR250 sold abroad will not meet the strict Indian emission norms. Secondly, the high sticker price that the bike might end up commanding will hardly lure hundreds of buyers towards it every month. For instance, the R15 is doing around 1,500 units per month and the company doesn’t see a market for a 250cc bike in India, yet. The same goes for launching scooters in the country. When we spoke to a highly placed official, he dismissed off all the rumours with a smile stating that as of now, they are only gauging customer feedback and at least for this calendar year, there will be no scooter launches in the country. Watch our next issue for a complete lowdown on the new bike due for its Indian debut very soon".

I appreciate what Yamaha has done with R15 and FZ, even if they are not the best in the class. But we expect some mean machines (like the RD) from Yamaha which the young Indians can afford to buy and run like the P220

Yes its true that its not going to be fazer250 for now but a new white colour in Fazer (may be FZ series also).Fazer/FZ 200-250 is lined up to be showcased for autoexpo along with the yammie scooters. And the CBU bike which we are talking about is definately V-Max and it is definately going to cost more then 26lacs(as it costs for around 13lacs in other countries)

                      Thread Being Re-opened

After information given by Wheel_spin, sourced from Autocar that says that the 09 R1 is being introduced into India by Yamaha, we have decided to re-open the thread. This puts an end to mindless speculations.

I am finding it hard to digest and associate 'R1' and 'world's fastest' tag!

That is a marketing gimmick I suppose.
