    BIG news for November
The most powerful locally produced motorcycle coming soon to a dealership near you We are having serious difficulty controlling our excitement. So we'll keep this simple. The largest displacement as well as the most powerful locally made motorcycle is coming to India early November '09. This could very well be the bike you have been waiting for - it shall serve those looking for raw power as well as those looking at munching miles on the open highways.

We cannot disclose more information as of now, but watch this space and you won't be disappointed.

i think it is the Bullet 500...cause the picture shown looks similar to the Bullet Classic..

If they are talking about the RE, it could very well be the internationally available 29Bhp Bullet!

It is the Bullet Classic 500

It is the Bullet Classic 500 cc, EFi model (sold in Europe) which will be launched in India in early November 09.

I had received an e-mail a week ago from Royal Enfield about this model (thanks to my blog which was once quite active online) and its launch.

This would be one torque monster.. but expect pricing around 1.0-1.5 lakhs rupees.

This is a portion of the mail that I had recieved..

Royal Enfield is launching their export model, the Classic 500 in India come November. The launched model will come with EFI and will be based on the Unit Construction Engine.

The bike sports a fabulous finish, great color options and will have custom rubbers made by MRF. Definitely a treat
          .

The pricing should be much higher - 2 lakhs on-road types considering the desi 500 goes for 1.15 these days

It looks beautiful...would consider one just for how it looks. Plus the possibility to use quality tires and not the one-make nonsense RE used to pawn with it's 19" wheels before.

Not impressed with the power-plant...I think they would have been better served with a V-Twin. Even a 500cc V-Twin would have been game-changing. I think the bhp isn't the issue with enfields...never was. The inability to cruise at 100kph reliably and continuously is the main problem.

I personally prefer, they should have had provisions for mounting a pillion seat too, would make sense if someone wants to tour with a pillion or just to hang the saddle bags if toured alone.

P.S whats the purpose of the rear foot peg in the pics without a rear seat??

thats cause there are always provisions for such small thing on a bullet...

lets see what they launch... i am sure that the UCE units are a lot more reliable than than the older engines including the AVL's.
