Not impressed with the power-plant...I think they would have been better served with a V-Twin. Even a 500cc V-Twin would have been game-changing. I think the bhp isn't the issue with enfields...never was. The inability to cruise at 100kph reliably and continuously is the main problem.
IIRC, this one (the classic has 18 inch wheels and a 110 section rear) at least in Europe. Maybe RE will add the same 19 inch here to save costs.

There definitely is provisions for a rear seat on there coz I do seem to recall seeing pics of the bike with the rear seat !! I might be wrong though and if it isn't there we will have to check the strength of the rear mudguard before loading it up with a pillion seat/pillion !!

Anyone has any idea if RE has any plans to plonk the engine into a TB frame ? I mean for pple hu do not like classic design. Or will the warrenty void a la NInja, if we indeed modify the bike like a cruiser/chopper ??

Lastly, is it twin spark ? Coz I remember a discussion with an official of RE and he said they plan to twin spark the entire bullet range !!

The Legendary BULLET !!! Nothing is more powerful than a RE in India, Pulsars/Apaches/FZs/R15/ZMA-R are altogether in different leagues though, nothing can even touch the reputation of RE & its enthusiasts. My uncle owns an Electra 5S '08 and maintained in xxxxxcellent condition till date. He changed exhaust from regular one to Mach & its sounds deadly.....

Think of the RD 350 and see where the RE 500 or so... stands man, agreed that RE has relaxed engine characteristics but RD is a assassin in raw power and torque. If u'd have hopped on to a RD, u'll know it better. It's not a brand war that i'm bringing in and it's of no use as RD is not in production Just justifying ur statement of the most powerful bike in india.

Rajdoot Yamaha RD350 still holds the record for the most powerful locally made motorcycle in India. My RC Book states that its a 30.5 Bhp motor. The title might mislead the newbies here. The Classic 500 is a beast though.

P.S whats the purpose of the rear foot peg in the pics without a rear seat??
One call the fellow said that the pillion seat is a standard, same like the 500 LB limited editions!

The RD350s were locally made in India though the first few hundreds were fully imported US spec ones. The licence production by Rajdoot started in 1983 and ended in 1989. The last RD sold from the Yamaha showroom was in the 91-92 financial year. They were getting assembled at the Faridabad factory as far as i know.

Ive seen the bike in europe. It's an absolute stunner. the exhaust was different though. was a long bottle type like on the machismo 500.

gotta admit this- It looked real good with a sahib riding it.

Let me get back to past of this RE Bullet
I saw two bike in same green or whatever color in chennai near Adayar area found the bike in a old home or something like a play ground under a banyan tree with a group of 15-20 RE staffs were checking the bike top to bottom for pdi checkup, before that one of my closest friend told me that 2 of these bikes were seen in adayar RE showrooms(like Bangalore showroom) @ that time i didn't believe him, after a week i saw these bikes where i said above
The bikes had a rear seat still i can remember.

Ps: I didn't take pictures coz of the RE staffs were there so i don't know to take pics or not. Sorry guys

Guys, seems to be a nice machine, not for my types though...

One OFF topic question - If a bike has 1 Seat only, is the Saree Guard still compulsory?

Love that classic looking Air Filter box, and wonder what side the brake is gonna be on this bike!
