"If the market demands, we will look into the high-powered bike segment of above 200 cc category," TVS Motor Company President (Marketing) H S Goindi told reporters here.
The firm has, however, not decided whether it will be a racing bike or will be branded as 'Apache' like the existing bikes in above 150 cc category, he added.
TVS likely to foray into above 200 cc bike segment

You can find this shocking that even a TVS employee who works at R&D Dept(ASEAN Products) says they have only heard rumours about the 200cc+ bike.

Yes they have..Originally posted by satyenpoojary View PostAsk him if TVS 'makes' those engines

The company has produced six bikes, three of the TVS 125 X, two TVS 250 X and one of the TVS 400 FX models. The bikes have been developed jointly by the research and development wing of TVS Motor and its offshore consulting institution, Engines Engineering of Italy.
The TVS 125 X and 250 X are both two-stroke, single cylinder bikes. The 125 X has a 45 BHP, six-speed gear ratio while the 250 X has 55 BHP, five-speed gear ratio. The TVS 400 FX has a four-stroke, five-speed gear ratio.
I literally started digging through various websites to find out the truth because a company cannot use it's brand/logo on a product without being a part of it in the development.
TVS Motor launches 3 racing bikes

Nice! but not for Mass markets yet!
but we know where this is heading!
PS: Involvement is a tricky word, TVS could have sourced material too :P that still qualifies as involvement!Super CommuTOURer - Talk less, Ride more

We all know that there is hardly any market for >250cc bikes right now and it would be really tough for local manufacturers as they have to splurge huge amount of money on the development of those products which would have high margin but very very low volumes making them completely unfeasible from investment-returns point of view.
But i still wonder what is holding the biggies(international bike makers) from taking a plunge because even if they would burn their fingers it would only pinch and they can very well afford it.

At times I too wonder! With the kind of cost effeciency that we have, why dont we beat others in emerging markets with cheap quarter litre bikes! Its a much bigger market! and PS: TVS Rockz kicked some Vixion arse somewhere else in the world. Being compared to the R15\Vixion is no small stuff!Super CommuTOURer - Talk less, Ride more
