Good move from Honda! Now even the commuters don't have to compromise on style.
P.S. When will I stop seeing Splendors&Passions on the road? Hope those new emission norms kill them!
    Quench my thirst with gasoline!

      Very (un)likely, indeed!

Lovely looking bike. Looks distinct for sure. Being a Honda I assume it would perform well.

So, what are the never heard of features this CB Twister would have for a 100/110 cc bike?

        1) Disc Brake - the Caliber Chroma and Passion Plus already had that
        2) Open Chain - yes, this is one that none had earlier and is a Honda's first in India
        3) Stylish side scoops - can say they are the first - though the Libero had some tiny scoops, that doesn't count in much
        4) Red colour shock absorbers - the Passion already has them
        5) Rectangular Box Swing Arm - may be first for a Honda but nor for others
        6) May be a digital speedo - Bajaj has been there and done that
        7) a tiny puny looking engine - this could be a first
        8) May be it has 5 gears
        9) pilot lamps - it doesn't seem to have. as such others already have them
        10) May be it has a lot more power than the regular 110 cc bikes
        11) from the pics it doesn't seem to have an FI unit - should be a carb model
        12) May be it has a tacho meter and a choke placed on the handlebar - again nothing new
        13) may be 17" wheels with tubeless tyres - though 17" wheels are not new, tubeless tyres would be.
        14) ...

        someone pls continue on this!

May be they are testing a 70cc engine too.

Remember how the P200 owners felt when the new P180 was announced!

The Unicorn's sporty upgrade has to hit the showrooms very soon. It is a big disappointment to see the amazing Unicorn still in those old clothes.

Till then, if you are in a hurry, there is an option. Buy a CB Twister. Get a Unicorn Engine. Plonk it in.

Great move by HH, now they should improve on looks for other models too. Sporty, young, weight ( bulkiness ), this should be considered by HH, and with this design it seems they have taken up seriously.
Buddy, this one is from Honda. Not Hero Honda. I don't blame you for that anyway... that is the kind of market and mindset Hero Honda managed to create with us. Anything near 100 CC and is good, we think it should be a HH!

HH or HMSI, they are having common strategy to increase Honda's marketshare in India, and they have been doing it quite impressively. Products for India is decided based on a compherensive research and taking into consideration growth potential for both HH and HMSI.

Trust me this Twister () is going to be a big hit and HMSI as usual will have to continue their tradition of maintaining 'waiting period' log book !! The style quotient of the bike suggest that it's gonna eat into all bikes under 135cc, atlast commuter is going 'stylish' !!!

If twister is hit, then expect HH to roll out 100cc FIREBLADE

a pretty neat looking bike in this entry level segment... could easily be a crowd puller in this 100/110 cc based on the looks... lets wait for the actual specs and performance upon launch. good move from Honda.

                  1) Stunner\Unicorn is NOT a "brand" as big as "Pulsar" the point was obviously for "Twister" which my freind is another bike available elsewhere! (they may be better bikes though)
                  2) I thought 15CC backwards made a lot of hue and cry!

saw these pics for the first time today..

impressive styling but lacks the engine in display. its too tiny in those pics

a stylish less expensive alternative to splendor n passion etc.

this bike will definitely have a PREMIUM attached to its price!
to me this bike looks better than the stunner.

the small exhaust is so-so!.. a fatter design would be a better display but again it wouldn't have gelled well with that tiny looking engine.. without that scoop, the bike will look almost empty!

to the people it is aimed at, i feel the market will be new to this type of product as it can be considered as a fresh entrant(alien) to the market. this product has to write its own faith. it has landed in a unknown teritory. the teritory where biking is 10% and commuting is 90%. where style takes less space and functionality takes more! 2 adults and 2 kids on commuters is also a function right? this bike is entering a zone where biking is a different thing all together and not the way we see it!

but its the RISK well taken by HMSI.. and its worth the effort!
best of luck to this bike and congratulations to HMSI for trying something very different from the competition.

well i think YAMAHA has prompted HMSI to bring in some international styling to the aam junta! "but at still smaller cc(s).. its a game!!"

i will not be surprised if SUZUKI brings in some tiny B-king or tiny GSX-R too..

                    i like this lil bike

@HydBiker: Dude you forgot split grab rails. I may/ may not have them.

It may also have an engine kill switch.

IMHO we can keep guessing all the features till the showdown in Jan'10.

Cant a 110cc/9ps machine survive without disc brake, which may make it MRP more aggressive ?

                              Down scaling, you see...

Bike seems to have split grab rails... BTW a commuter isn't going to be happy with a chain that needs maintenance every time it gets wet, will he?

Well if Honda can play the game in 100CC segment with sporty bikes then i dont think so Yamaha is far behind,i just got to hear the most shocking (but most desirable also ) that Yamaha is planning to shock every player in the 100CC with its new launch, any guesses?Legend is Coming (SSHHH....honda & bajaj wale sun lenge).Well i know its not the right time to reveal it but i heard they are testing it with some modifications required to fulfill the present norms.Waiting for the expo to check-out the possible launches of Yamaha & Honda
