  • 58k is just too much for a 110cc. But as far as outright performance is concerned, the Twister has got company in the form of TVS Jive. 0-60km/hr in 7.2 seconds and a top speed of 95km/hr(real)!!

      I'll agree..

I happened to take test ride of both the CB Twister and the Jive on the same day.. even I'll agree that in terms of performance both the bikes feel same. The CB Twister is a bit refined above 60 kmph though. But then the Jive has the price advantage and comes without the clutchless tech.

Apart from that, the styling is a major differentiator here.. the Twister is all Funky and edgy, the Jive looks understated but solid and looks like an honest commuter.

I'm bemused by such comments. After all it not outrageously more expensive. Say you plonk the twister engine on a splendor or something like that, I'm sure it'll be cheaper. You're paying extra for the style. You don't like paying extra for style. There are plenty cheaper options with similar performance without the style. Its as simple as that. Its all marketing strategy.

I like wearing adidas shoes. It doesn't have more leather in it than others cheaper options that costs 1/4 th, nor does it make me go faster. I just like it . Yeah for some it 6k for a shoe?

No need to get bemused. It's costly for it's 'segment' and that's it.

I am in no way criticising it as a product just the price which seems steep.

          • Why all the cry about the price? I am sure none of you here is going to buy that bike or its competitors. For those people planning in that segment, they would decide on the price difference. And, Honda has got a good response for the Twister.

Passion Pro with Alloy wheels. Bangalore OTR = Rs 51,664
Super Splendor with Self & Alloys. Bangalore OTR = Rs 51,608
            Jive ~50,000
            Star City 110 ~49,000

Following is the OTR for Twister in Bangalore

CB TWISTER KICK DRUM ALLOY = Rs. 49,308
CB TWISTER SELF DISK ALLOY = Rs. 57,031
CB TWISTER SELF DRUM ALLOY = Rs. 52,667

Shine with Self Start & Alloys. Bangalore OTR Rs 53,769
            Gladiator ~55,000

Information taken NOW from the respective websites. If you don't believe that, I recommend you to cross check that with any dealership.

All the gentlemen here can cearly see that the comparable model of Twister is the third one and the difference with Passion Pro is just Rs 1003. Of course, add another Rs 500 (estimate) for the saree guard that comes standard in Passion and not in Twister.

For someone who wants a big bike feel & looks, power bettering some 125cc bikes (don't go by the peak power numbers) and great mileage promise (probably the best selling point of a Honda), they will probably consider the Twister at Rs 1500 extra.

Sit on the Twister, the nearest comparable feel is that of the FZ16.

Yes, I did NOT like that bike so much. Have to see if that opinion changes with time.

            • I totally agree with HydBiker. Twister is not that costly compared to the other competitive products including the mighty splendor+ and it wins hands down against any bike of its class. Also with the type of package being offered as twister, I must agree with the popular view that it might just be the new "splendor" of India. Although it will take time for it to achieve the numbers like that of splendor due to heavy HH presence in rural India. Also it will be fun to see what shall become of HH after Honda dominates Indian market (like every other market ) and how Splendor dwindles to become 'doodhwala's bike' from current 'Uncle's bike'!
              When in doubt...... Gas it!

              • ^^^ oh! be careful about the "doodhwala's bike" usage here buddy. There are die-hard Pulsar fans around who would leave no credit that belongs to it (or, 'him').

                • KP, the top end variant is still priced a 2k higher, at least that is what I feel. Just with front disk and self motor, the price is going 8k higher. Now, you are paying the 2k extra for styling, quality of the bike, and the all new 110 cc engine which is a gem. Now it is justifiable.

PS: (No, I do not justify the Stunner FI price; please keep it away of the discussion)

Edit: In fact, I feel the lower variants of Twister are more VFM with MF battery, Viscous-free air filter, and tubeless tyres; and an FZ feel riding.

                      • Saw bike in flesh today, it looks smart but is just TOO puny, it looks so small that i wonder if even P220, BULLET or ZMR will rocket past it, it'll loose the road....

No wonder it's really a fresh breath of air (100 CC) amongst the 20 year old and "re painted" Passions and splendours, but the price HONDA is demanding for it makes it close to the 135 cc option available in the market.

It is not puny. May be because of superbike inspired styling you are feeling it. Swing a leg over it and you will see how big you feel on this.

And, remember this is a 110cc bike which is just 108 kgs. Please compare it to its competitors in its class.

                          • booked the black one yesterday without disk .
                            expected dilevery in 15 days

as per me this will chew up splendor+ and passon+ the primium 100cc catagory ,dont know why this segment exist?
the platina 125 cc with ES is the best VFM costing a good 9 k less than this one so bajaj will chew the lowest segment.
TVS Jeive is a good bet in the same segment.

i guess this quarter will push the HH in a corner to try some thing radical!

BTW, HH's segment of 100cc buyers are completely different. They buy HH bikes because of the track record. If they say something is changed, many will drop out.

Is it a bike or a cow with 2 wheels.why does it need to CHEW so much.

ps:100 cc & 110 cc belong to the same category though they may differ in terms of performance
