I don't think so. Enjoy what you have right now, else you will keep waiting till eternity. The R15 is the best production bike money can buy you in India, at present&for a few more years to come, nothing will beat it in its segment&even a couple of segments above.
Oh yeah the so called Honda 250 MAY be launched in 2011, or may not even see the light of the day. Who knows! Would you wanna miss out on all the fun till then?

Thanks Sunny for the gesture. The pleasure was all mine. As for the report post button, never used it, never felt like burdening the mods any further but its a point well taken, will keep that in mind.

you were missed at the auto expo, though we all know you have great things lined up already.

I would like to thank Old Fox, Aryan, Ken, Puneet, MG and RX( Dipankar) along with all the other volunteers who spared time and efforts for the Event. without the help and support of the wonderful people like them, this wont have been possible like that.

                all cheers

                    • Duty structure sucks big time !! .Its obviously a policy which the politicians employed to protect the local manufacturers during the early 80's and prior to that. Our country has come such a long way in other aspects, after the economy was opened up but sadly this archaic law about protecting the local bike makers is still there and doesn't look like its gonna change any time soon.
So, yeah in spite of the fact that the local manufacturers are still stuck around 200cc capacity and may not make a competitor to say an R1 till IC engine is around doesn't seem to cross the policy makers minds. The Japanese co's will never manufacture their super-sport line up outside japan ,at least not in the foreseeable future .So what are we left with? pay enough to buy 2 super bikes to get a super bike and to grin and bear it.
The duty structure is 125% for CBU's i think and to make matters worse the super bikes of yamaha are first shipped to Australia and from there after incurring tax of some kind is shipped here .In the process we end up being the country where these bikes cost the maximum !!
I had written about the same to Bike magazine and it was published. There i had accused the local manufacturers of bribing the politicians to keep the archaic law in place.
When it comes to the Kawasaki ninja 250 ,its simply baffling!! because its manufactured in thailand and india seems to have a free trade agreement with thailand !!.To make it even more curious ,its CKD import ,hence it incurs duty of 40% and Thailand is near .So what could be the reason for a price tag of 3,16,000 ?. Is Bajaj making a fast buck ? .Baffles me to say the least.

I have already experienced the cold there for around 18yrs of my life. It indeed is really nice a feeling.

Bajaj is not making more than 30-40K on this as far as sources go. The Fi version comes to about 2.1L on converting from THB.

That's why we should thank Yamaha for at least giving us a small taste of super-sport bikes in R15 and let's seriously pray that Yamaha decides to go the same route when they decide to give us the R250.

                              • Rossi is seasoned professional for sure and i think he understood what happened but he shouldn't have cancelled the autograph signing and etc plans just because of this incident...it did hurt a lot of fans.

i know i wasn't able to go to Delhi for auto expo to see him and the ones who did went didn't get the chance to meet him.

but nevertheless the thing is he came to India and acc. to MotoGP website he reported that he enjoyed the trip.

and the Nickey thing that he posted some pictures, so whats wrong in that isn't that what happens in India.
