The Concept "Fascination"

The Newly Launched SLS 6.3

Good Information Ken. Well lucky you are, that you got to hear it all from the Horses mouth, not like us, who were answered by people who knew not how to Spell MERECEDEEEEEEEEEEEEEZ!
Well, the only concept vehicle that failed to impress me was the one from Mercedes. Somehow, I felt that the rear overhang was a tad too more than the front overhang (refer to the pic above) which makes it Ugly( its my outlook though!)
Also, am glad that you could source all that technical information for the SLS, else I was about to google and Wiki for it.
You said it was a Simple aspirated, now that's what I call wow!!!
though under the hood, I could not spot the Turbos, but a simple/natural aspirated engine pumping up more than 500 bhps is a WOW for me.
Also the increased ground clearance is again amazing.
Thanks for getting us all that information, if only we had more people in the likes of Mr. Guido Brormann, we would definitely not be hitting the google soo many times.
P.S: I cant afford to buy/run/maintain any Mercedes hence the Concept vehicle was VERY UGLY! hahahahah!!
Its not about the BHP or the CC, its about one common religion called Biking!!!

I (along with my brother Sachin "Satellite.Kid") got a call from a friend about this press conference and reached there in a mad rush.. and we were glad.. We saw Valentino Rossi, our hero in front of us from a distance of not more that 10 feet, and it wasn't just Rossi but Masao Furusawa - the man behind Yamaha Racing was there too... So we were so over-joyed but then it didn't last long...
An idiot reporter from channel "Voice of India" created a scene and showed Rossi & the Japanese that we are a country of disrespectful idiots who don't know how to behave in front of a legend like Rossi.. in the end Rossi left for his room & a possible autograph session was dumped.. our bad luck due to mindless arrogant fools of the press!!
Ken you were there and you witnessed the disappointment in all of us.. including John Abraham.. he was disgusted too by the behavior of the press...
Can you guys take this.. Rossi, John, Furusawa & two other highly placed officials are addressing the press (answering silly questions rather), one of the "smart" reporters asked John Abraham "John, if Bipasha asks you to choose between her and the bikes, what will you choose?" John's face turned red and he didn't answer that obviously..Last edited by nitinsen; 01-12-2010, 01:10 PM.

thanks a ton Ken, for giving us the opportunity of having this wonderful glimpse of the real hero of the racing world. John was the perfect person to talk with him I guess at this point of time.
Thanks again for sharing..!!

hey dude... frankly I did not know you before that but since you are a part of XBHP family, it was my duty to greet you & make you feel the same way as wellOriginally posted by Parth View PostWell guys I had planned to visit the expo on saturday but due to some unforeseen circumstances (I didn't wake up from the alarm
), I wasn't able to go. So today when I woke up, I said to myself that this is the day when I'd visit the expo.
Freshened up in 30 mins and was out of the door by 8:30 dot. Reached the pragati maidan metro station when the clock was striking around 9:30. I thought WOW this is gonna be great I'm always late for everything and today I'm on time.
I then saw the long line before the exit of the metro and asked a guy if this was the exit via which the expo would be the nearest to reach. He didn't knew that, but he had come with 2 other friends and they invited me to join them and that was great.
When we finally got off the exit que, in our front was the ticket counter and it said "Auto-Expo tickets available". I had a complimentary pass from my workplace so I didn't have any worries, but my 3 newly acquired friends didn't have passes or tickets so they went towards the counter. A guy came to us and told that he had passes that he'll sell to us for 150/- per pass. A deal was struck @ 100 per pass and he agreed to accompany us in case any problem pops in. Gladly it didn't (pop in) and we continued our journey through a maze of halls and people.
My primary motives were to take a look at the YAMAHA and HONDA stalls and inquire about RTR220. Also to go to the xbhp stall. Cars weren't a priority but I did take some time out to look at the 4 wheeled beauties.
By the time we managed to get to hall no 7 we were a little exhausted but not enough to call quits. Saw the amazing Cbr1000r and CB1000r, also the VFR1200 was a sight to behold. The unicorn concept was a little weird in metal though I liked it in the pics. The CB twister looked alright (in comparison with the sz).
Then came the Yamaha stall and I was quite literally blown away by the M1,The R1,The Vmax,FZ1,Fazer1000. What was quite surprising to me was that all of those machines didn't appealed to me as much as the Diversion XJ6. I mean that blue piece of machinery was the best looking bike to me (till I saw the Ducati1998 but that'll come later)
. I also asked the representative there about the displacement and time of launch of the SZ but he didn't give me a straight answer. We decided to move on to the TVS stall.
Ah......hammerhead........This is why to me TVS is the best Indian manufacturer. The firm has the guts to think out of the box (even if its just a concept). Inquired about the RTR220 and the representative said that it's coming. Also when I asked about the ABS tech on the RTR180, he said that the ABS will increase the price of the bike by about 20k. I was like
. After that I decided to start searching for the xbhp stall.
Also I forgot to add before, I couldn't bring a proper camera as the battery went kaput this november end and I was just too lazy to get that replaced, so was trying to catch some snaps with my 2MP cell phone cam
. Then my cell's battery died on me and I couldn't take any more snaps. This was before I visited the Honda stall.
SO I was searching for the xbhp stall when I suddenly realised that my 3 friends weren't with me. So I called one of 'em and he quickly came up to me. Unlucky thing was that the other 2 weren't with him. Also none of their cells were in network area. SO we decided to start searching for the xbhp stall and then we'll find the friends
. and thank god I searched for the xbhp stall first, coz due to that search, I, by pure luck went into the Harley-Davidson stall, which was, need-less to say BRILLIANT.
After we came out, we found the other two friends, after a number of calls. It was 1:00 on the clock and they had to go as they had bunked college to come see the expo. We bid farewell and I continued my search for the xbhp stall.
Well, I tried asking some guards, staff at the bajaj stall but got nothing. I was thinking of calling quits due to a hell lot of pain starting to rise in the legs, but then I got an idea, I looked up xbhp.com via my cell(thank god the stupid stupid nokia people didn't disable the browser in case of low battery like they did with the camera) and saw the address to the stall. The map on the forum was way too large for my small mobile screen but atleast I had the address of the stall(Thank You Aryan for putting up the address along with the map). I decided to continue searching for the stall and after many many misguiding guards, I gave the representative of a stall the address and asked for directions. He was a very helpful guy and gave me the exact directions (unlike the guards) to the mezzanine floor. The greatest thing was that when I was on the mezzanine floor, I asked a guard for directions of the stall and he said this is not the mezzanine floor, this is the staff floor.
Thank God I didn't take his advice and continued searching on my own. Shortly, after 1-2 minutes of searching, I came to a section where, stall addresses were written and was decreasing as I went right. At the end of the row, I was the xbhp stall. It felt really good to be there and I took a moment to take a breath and relax. I recognized RX100.7050 from the pics that he posted on this thread and the fact that he was holding a camera was a big pointer
. I asked him Rx100? He said: So someone knows who I am too.
I said I'm Parth from the forum. He replied "Ah.....Parth" with a nod of the head. I know that he didn't recognize me but the way he greeted me was very very good. He was very friendly and we chatted for a while. He asked me about the gift I'd received (which I'd received after I took a survey) and although I'd planned to open it back at home, I asked shall I open it here?? He said off-course why not. The gift was opened and inside was a business diary. Not much of my utility but It's good to have as a souvenir from Auto Expo 2010. We chatted a bit about what all stalls I've visited and He gave me some advise on what to visit next. The other xbhpians present there seemed a bit busy attending other people so I decided to leave. I left the stall at around 3:30 and completely forgot that I'd planned to buy an xbhp T-shirt and other stuff. But by then, my legs were almost running out of fuel
and the thought of climbing those damn stairs again made me change my mind and I decided to get the merchandise some other time.
I took the nearest exit(which considering the pain my legs were causing me, didn't seem like the nearest exit at all) and went up to the metro station. My god I was overwhelmed at the sheer number of people in ques to enter the premises. I'd expected it to be crowded but this was a little too much. I said goodbyes to any chances to getting a seat in the metro. Finally, I got back at home at about 5, concluding a very entertaining day of my life.
Need-less to say, my favorite moments of today were when I was in the xbhp stall.
I've clicked around 80-85 pics but most of them aren't any good so will upload only a few.
It was very nice meeting you & congrats once again for the prize !!

Wow! Thanks for the coverage Ken da.
Was really wonderful reading through stuff that happened at the conference.
I had never imagined these 2 guys would ever sit on an R15, especially Rossi..
My views on the YZF-R15 V2.0: http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/news/198...tml#post699240
The pleasure is when your rear wheel slides, and you bring it back; and when the front wheel lifts, you take your time bringing it back.

Atlast the 'King' has come but very sad to know that he had to leave with a bad impression thnx to some idiot from the press....
I feel Yamaha should have invited a national racing champion like Preetham or Dilip Roggers to have shared the stage with the legend, of course John should also be there. Anyways ppl who have missed him this time can plan a trip to malaysia to see him in action and i heard that u get time personally with him if u r there on a thursday or a friday before the race......
@Ken: Good pics & write up....Young riders pick a destination and go, Old riders pick a direction and go !
My best trip till date:http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/tourer/2...uke-390-a.html
