  • It was great to meet "sunilg(ee)", "Himanshu" & other fellow xbhpians in forum mall, bengaluru.
Could not catch up with them in g2g which followed next morning & later regretted to have missed such a great ride.
My friend Sayan attended it & gave me all the details of the ride.
Anyway, hoping to catch up next g2g.

    @sunilgee,
After completing this ride (at Kolkata I believe), you can proudly change your signature to (Been There Done That) x (2 + 1/2)

It often takes a humiliating overtake to understand that an early jump off the red light won't help them lead the pact. All I want to say is - Go after green.

Overall it was a faboulous day, starting off from dhabha till we went there and stayed there for a long, there were many a situtaions where we have LOL'ed having hands on our stomach, and discussing anything and everything that we could,
Sunny, old fox, manan, noor, himanshu, sharad, and JD(Ducati) we thank you all for the wonderful time and hospitality.

For the brickbats, Something had happened in the mumbai thread, those who go throug the site can surely go.
I understand that I am no one to say something to somebody directly, nor am I given that kind of responisibility.
However what I am trying to make a point here is that: we all are sensible mature riders, riding with a huge group attracts a lot of attention and esp when there are imported bikes, we tend to rip the bikes to get closer to them and ride along,
please refrain from such things, your bikes are not meant for that close nick to nick match up with them.
If someone gets hurt during this it will be an issue for everyone, noone is gonna leave you there on the streets, but a problem will arise,
Tailgaiting Each other, not riding close enough, laggin behind, crossing zig zags here and there was noticed at times by a few, I would not like to name anyone here, but you all know where you lack. If you feel there is something that you dont know, come up to the people who are from a long time.
I on behalf of some more people as discussed, humbly request you all to please read about group ridings and then join in for major group ride, esp the first timers.
Well said LP Uncle, the only thing people finds is attention of crowd and for that they forget their own safety. i was one of them, with my past mistakes i had realized this fact. If you ride properly people will appreciate you with in their heart, but if you create trouble then they will abuse you from your heart.
I would suggest them to find them self a good track to race on, away from traffic, then fullfill their desire to be a rock star on wheels (if they really are).
By the way LP Uncle aap to bade samajhdar ho gaye ho. I liked the pics and its my bad that i missed the event. Sorry LP Uncle.

                          • It was good to come home after a long ride from Mumbai. And meeting up with so many of Delhi xBhpians was the proverbial icing on the cake. Such a good turnout is a very heartening sight and shows the strong inroads xbhp has made into projecting a positive image of motorcycling. Equally heartening is the sight of so many riders realizing the importance of good and proper riding gear.

The camaraderie was effusive and bikes like the Monsters and the HD 1200 Sportster being such a huge draw is indicative of the passion for motorcycling prevailing all around.

The ride to Gurgaon was indicative both of all that has been achieved and all that remains yet. The group ride etiquette is still not second nature. People await strong and repeated instructions to get into formation and remain in it during the ride. Its a hangover from the school days when each morning the teachers would exhort students to line up in queues. There needs to be an all round self-awareness about these minor matters like forming small groups comprising 8-10 riders, riding in a staggered, two side by side or single file according to the road width and traffic conditions. Being considerate to other road users is a feeling that must arise from within by itself.

Anyone old enough to own and ride a bike, knowledgeable enough to be aware of the importance of good safe riding gear must necessarily also be aware of his/her responsibility vis a vis road and riding etiquette. However I do plan to hold a couple of workshops on such issues and some more once I am free sometime in mid Jan this coming year. We have the numbers, we have the will, we have the knowledge. All we need is the humility to understand our responsibilities and to learn to behave in a manner that exemplifies civility, discipline and cohesive brotherhood.
I don't let my motorcycles interfere with my motorcycling...
