congrats to all short listed members. one of them is about to have a time of his life.
@Sunny - I see most of the entries are less then required 200 words. Was there any flexibility in the submission?Last edited by pulsater; 06-26-2010, 07:28 PM.www.motorcykle.in - The lighter side of motorcycling

That's a very nice gesture from XBhp on the whole!! I mean forget about who would win, but the fact that XBhp is giving a biker amongst it's vast membership an oppertunity to ride alongside and such a HUGE international platform, just goes to show how solid the commitment of XBhp is towards Indian Motorcycling.
@Sunny - Good to see you back with you signature look.... couldn't recognise in a single go when you posed with your Ninja

The Great Italian Roadtrip: Contest: Step 3:The Final Top 10!
After a lot of thinking and discussions the panel of judges have selected these 10 entries as the final 10 (in no particular order):

Well you guys will have to arrange for an
ambulance too.. cause i am sure i will faint after
getting the news of winning.. It would simply
be the best thing ever to happen to me... Going
to Italy is like a dream. A million dollar
dream. Landing in Italy specially to visit the
Legendary Ducati factory sounds so very exciting.
My heart is already skipping some
beats. Getting a chance to sit on the Ducati
StreetFighter "in Italy" and representing our very
own xBhp team would be the coolest thing on
Earth. And lets not forget the brand new
Videocon cell phone to capture some yummy Pasta &
Red Hot Ducati Pixels.. This would be a once in
a lifetime biking opportunity for someone like
me. And i am a Biker.. a die hard Ducati fan..
its my passion.. its my religion, and i would call
it - "The Great Italian Dream". Maybe 10 to 15
years more.. one day im going to buy the SBK 848.
Hardwork and patience are my tools.. and
God-willing, my time will come soon. Shoutouts
to Ducati, xBhp and Videocon for such a great
opportunity !! Rock on and Ride safe everyone.

we arrive as gladiators to the land of engineering
marvels, to conquer the meanest yet the highly
tamable of road beasts. We arrive as men of faith,
men who believe in 1 true god Biking and 1 true
Thumping prayer...We arrive as people who will
talk of these 4 days for the rest of our lives. We
arrive as skeptics who always questioned "what is
my purpose on this earth, was I meant for
greatness or jus to pass through life" and we will
leave with an answer.

Though my landing into the heavenly country Italy
sitting on the splendid Ducati with my team
members would make me feel having entered an
ephemeral dream world which a lay man can only
desire of living but the valuable Videocon phone
given would still help me keep my connection with
reality and capture the moment to make them an
indelible memory to be cherished forever.

My first thought is "These are my best moments in
life , I am in the vicinity of Roman Empire ,
piloting my most favorite bike with the team of
most passionate riders, being connected through
the no-nonsense mobile phone, so i am going to
live these precious moments beyond imaginations,
beyond thrill, beyond adventure and beyond Life "

WOW!! is this for real...or am i just imagining
that i got this lucky.. 1. to ride in italy 2.
to ride a ducati in italy 3. to ride a ducati
with xbhpians in italy 4. to ride a ducati with
xbhpians in italy with a cool phone in my jacket
pocket... let me twist the throttle, let me
hear the L-twin come to life, let me ride for a
few hundred miles, let me lean the bike, let me
feel the front getting light and reach toward the
sky, let me hear the music from Beethoven of 2
wheels...then and only then i would know that i am
not dreaming.. and if at all i am...i just hope
no one dares to wake me up...

My first thoughts would be that i am living my
dream. ITALY is my dream country. Riding in ITALY
on DUCATI Streetfighter with xBhp team and a
VIDEOCON mobile will be the most memorable and
enthralling moment of my life. DUCATI
Streetfighter is a splendid fusion of Style and
Performance. VIDEOCON is most trusted brand and
its mobile would enable me to describe my
experience with DUCATI and XBhp team in ITALY to
my mother back home. Biking with xBhp which is
most popular biking community will ensure
enriching and safest biking experience.

Fantasy Becoming Reality...what other thoughts can
describe better.. A chance created by Xbhp for the
ardent riding fanatics, travel to Italy riding the
all Italian powerhouse Ducati on the beautiful
Roads of probably the most scenic roads in Italy.
Speeding Steadily on straights and turns, while
all the memories are captured in my mind for the
rest of my life. A chance to express my existence
as a Rider of Bikes and get appreciated for it by
my Family friends and All those who can feel my
Pleasure...Indeed a fantasy come true.

I am about to leave in an hour for the airport! Still confused about what wopuld be the best route to do the Alps / Dolimites and yet reach Bologna back on 4th evening.
I am thinking of doing the Stelvio Pass, one of the great motorcycling roads in Europe (Cortina d'Ampezzo BL, Italy to Stelvio Pass - Google Maps )
