  • Hey bking

Sharing and spreading really good information out there for everyone. Been Following it since Day 1 . It's saddening to see such OPEN frauds taking place, and the people being so fearless.
Hope that, you trace them soon, and with the xBhp in Hyderabad, spotting sightings or anything can lead you there soon! My best Wishes man!

And Btw, It's the "BILL OF LADING" or "BOL"!

      • Hi Bking,

couldn't go through the entire post, but there are few points that i have been thinking about.

        1. if the guy was a scamster, there is absolutely no way the guy would have stayed in the city after taking the bike. he must have gone out the very same day with the bike.
        2. getting the bike's entire color combination changed is no problem whatsoever. the guy i sold my bike to, change the bike's original red and black to orange white and black. the bike looks hideous to start with, and it's title of probably india's cleanest 600rr was stripped clean off it.
        3. the guy definitely wouldn't be posting the bike on the internet.
        4. the guy would sell the bike to someone who really wouldn't care to go online to check up. honestly speaking, of all the bikers i know personally, there aren't even 2 people who bought the bike via the internet or did some research on that particular bike. me being the only one. bought the bike from fellow xbhpian, after seeing his advt. on xbhp. made the RTGS payment after seeing the bike, and signed off all the papers from him to get the bike registered in my name.

if you can, try posting your friend's bike's VIN number with each of your post (if it's not too inconvenient for you that is)

when i was looking for a bike for myself i came across so many bikes with shady papers, that it's not funny. came across a bike with 3 VIN numbers with it. one on the bike, one on the RC book and one on the Bill of Entry papers. none of them were even close to similar. The bike's color on the RC book was different than the one mentioned by the seller.

One sure shot way to identify the bike's paper's genuinety is just see what's written on the Bill of Entry papers. If it shows the engine number and chassis number as different - steer clear from the bike. it has been brought in as spares, assembled here, and the registration is illegal.

one bike i was offered was MP 09 (indore) registered. Co-incidence was that the bike was running on my ex-car's number plates. There is a lot of jhol in this market. one needs to be really careful.

if anyone wants to know more, please feel free to contact me on [email protected] OR you can also pm me. Though receiving your messages via the email would be more convenient for me.

The thing is, the only form of contact for the police was the cell number of the thief. That is always coming up as switched off. There are no news of the bike resurfacing also. I believe the bike is in hiding or who knows, has changed hands already.....so no updates as yet bro. Best thing for now is that many people became aware of the scam....

Very good points samyakmodi! yes, you seem to know the black market for superbikes very well in India. Trust me, even I learnt so much. All the points you mentioned are very good points. Unfortunatley, like you said, many deals happen by direct interaction, beyond advertisement through internet or papers. The important thing is, all such cases are highlighted through such forums. Rest assured, it is only going to bring down grey market slowly but eventually.

          Cheers!

Taking it one step further, if you are able to make the police a lil happy (U know what I mean) and then track the address/owner where the cell phone is registered (and hoping its a relative or friend of the scamster), I am sure the police will know 'the best ways' to get it out of the relative/friend where this guy is located.

            • was shocked to read this...

as u have said that they made the initial payment of Rs 1.1 lakh...itz very much possible they were middle men(trying to make quick bucks)...also spread the news in near by cities cos i don't think that they would have remained there any longer ie in Hyderabad...they would have left the city that very day...may be driving it or via a truck transport...

give ad about it in leading new papers and mention a reward for it...along with they guys photo...

also that u said IN-SUFFICIENT FUNDS in their account means there are funds...so ask the bank to block the account or prevent immediate withdrawal...

the Licence address and the cell phone address might be fake as there are lot of means to get them easily

he seems to be too stupid to do such a thing...give out account details and also get himself photographed...m sure he'll be caught but the main question would be when...

Absolutely Harron, my friend has already hinted that to the police (We know exactly what you mean). The problem is that there is no trace of the cell phone either. Its always coming "switched off". Guess they are in hiding. The bike hasn't resurfaced either. Will keep you all updated, and thanks for your suggestion bro.

Hey aditya, its not even a case of insufficient fund as we earlier. If you read the updates on this thread (many members posted similar questions). There really was no account! One has to admit the innocence of my friend harish who became a victim. the cheque itself was fake, and the 4 digit accn number was itself fake.

Key sbk brokers in chennai, bangalore and hyderabad are highled of this issue. We think the theif is in hiding and all promient websites are being watched. only thing is, if the bike is already sold to some another unknown victim then all is lost. lets see bro, keep you all posted.

                cheers,

Well, what Haroon might've suggested is taking the help of Police & tracing the guy from the cell phone company. The guy might've given some proof of address to the cell phone company when taking the mobile, so, with the help of cops, you can dig the records & start tracing from there.

The cell phone details have left a dead trail. Whether the cops are influenced by the thieves? maybe. The phone is coming as switched off for the last few months.

Yes Aditya, these guys were clever, had you read the thread fully, the advance amount they gave on DD, for the sum of Rs. 1,10,000 was given in three DD's. two 49,000 and one 12,000 amount DD's. You need to give records only above 50,000. These guyz planned everything in detail. And my friend, fell at their con, like a sitting duck. But what i appreciate is that he wanted me to spread the word out.

I highly recommend that you read the full theard, not only to understand what all happened, but also, you will learn about the under world of nasty superbike stealing. That's the objective of starting this thread. At the least, let others not get fooled into buying a paperless superbike. Many readers of the thread have expressed how they will be extra careful, or even better, not buy an illegal bike. Knowledge is power my friend.

Hey Sourpunk, thanks for the tip. Its not working for me either. I just checked. Was it a konika minolta edition? there is a pick of the bike on the first page of this thread. The point is, konika minolta edition is actually a while bike with blue decals in it, but with blue rims.

Did the bike you see was all white with blue rims? any feedback would help buddy.
