By not having clean papers i thought the bike was bought without payment of duties etc. Not having the ownership transferred or not having the bike in one's name is another development and major hassle which the thief is exploiting to the max.

AFAIK, the blame lies on the previous owner as its his responsibility to transfer ownership as soon as the vehicle is sold off.

Whoever is at fault i hope this gets resolved soon. This is one cat and mouse chase.

Every Motorcycle has a tale to be told and there is no greater privilage in the life of a rider than to have truly understood what his Motorcycle stands to tell. Some of the greatest stories in the world are not written, they are experienced.

Oh ok, thanks whiteunicorn1011. yes, these are very good questions. I doubt if the bike will come out again in public, atleast not for a long time. Thanks buddy, appreciate it.

Exactly n_aditya. If you have been reading my previous posts in the early pages, one of the shady brokers tactics is to tell sbk buyers not to change it to there name, and they say "these are high speed machines and in case you hit someone, and that someone dies, you will be in jail forever! But if its not in your name, you can always run away from the that site." This is exactly what the broker who sold the bike to my friend harish said. I am like WTF? See how innocent my friend was? While you are asking for papers and issues, brokers are busy misdirecting you. saying things like, "you don't need papers, RC tho hai bhai (anybody can get fake RC by giving bike, and except for legal india showroom bikes, other bikes need bill of landing from the port, which cannot be counterfeited), app ke name mein transfer matth kariye, agar accident hua to aap ko jail baejdhaenghe, etc etc." and the mesmerized buyer is only concerned about getting his hands on one of these machines. Time and time again, thats why I am bringing this back, ie, young riders, of late teenage to mid 20's, be aware of such scams. Please see my previous posts.

What this incidence has done is made me and my friend aware and I am sharing it with you all. Please spread the word.

not transferring the bike onto his name is prolly the main the reason why ur
friend harish is in this situation in the first place.

i know this is not the subject of this thread but...

i don't get how u can claim ur friend was 'innocent' by not transferring the bike onto his name.
instead... i'd say he was being pretty calculating.

he chose not to transfer the bike onto his name because he wanted the
option of running away from the scene of an accident?!?

so wouldn't that mean that the person to whom the bike belong before would
'go to jail forever'... so now that makes it a 'conspiracy'.

it's easy to use the word 'innocent'...
but ur friend was trying to get out of hot water before he was in it.

n now it's backfired big time.

i know he's 'aware of it' now... but thats one expensive lesson to learn.

anyways... still hope the rightful owner gets the bike back.

its not that running away from the scene is the main motive, many times the excitement of getting a supersports or dream machine is so much that all you want is the machine.. by hook or by crook. its a big risk but at that time, most ppl fail to realise the consequences..

its just a bad luck of harish that he got duped big time.. feel sad for him...

i have just started to appreciate the efforts taken by bking to inform everyone of such a scam thats going on..
its not often that ppl learn from their own mistakes let alone educate everyone else that such a thing is happening.
hats off to you bking.. however, just be sure to put your updates here..

I wouldnt use the term innocent. I guess i would call it abusing the loophole in the system. But thats my opinion. I dont mean to sound rude so please dont get me wrong.

Also that would mean that the bike most probably has a police record of hit and run already. With such golmaal talk I'd rather ride a puny commuter bike than get into any mess. Better to continue dreaming about a big bike than running around spending oodles of time, effort and money setting this right.

If you want something so bad, get it legally and make it worthwhile. Precisely why i settled for a legal 250cc sportsbike. I looked at over a dozen SBK's (even an R1 which was quoted for a mere 4.5 lacs) and none of them had clean papers. I can now peacefully ride knowing that no DRI or police or customs or anyone can question the integrity of my purchase.

                      don't agree with you there.
i have about a dozen friends who own superbikes.

                      no one's been that excited.

                      • Ok. My brain hurts! What the F is going on here? Who is doing what? Who duped whom? Has he posted the check's image anywhere which Bking says is fake? I mean this guy shabeer could be genuine. he stopped the payment because the bike was not clean.

Whatever it might be, it is pretty clear that Bking's friend is not the smartest guy out there. Who signs a sale deed without getting a full payment?

now what i am going to say is for xhpians all over hyderabad and banglore

why dont we try from both ends to bring up a solution for this, let the Xbhpians in banglore hunt this buyer and hyderabad xhpians surround the seller to know for real what is true here, and if any one the two finds any logic why dont we try to bring both parties on common grounds to have a compromise and finish the unfinished deal

As Xbhpian we can be proud of achieving some thing more than just riding bikes whenever Xbhp comes into your cities

please think we have passin for biking and we respect each other for their feelings

and then Hyderabad & Bangalore can have a mega G2G to sort things out too.
