Nice story. The feeling of being the owner of the real thing, what was just a picture formerly must be incredible. Kudos buddy!
Riding is a way of life. Sometimes, it might also be a way of giving life. So Ride safe. In both contexts.

It's a special feeling when you see your dreams turning into reality. Your's is a prime example of what it takes in for achieving it and living in it for real once you accomplish it.

          Thanks for sharing your story!!

Wonderful inspiring set of words for fellow bikers buddy. When we met for the first time, i was wondering who on earth is this guy in spite of having the god of biking riding at par with the pulsars, karizmas and Apaches. Later realized the hardships and sentiments attached to the blue lady. All the best buddy.

Your story proves that if a man has clear will then he can get anything.
your dreams of R1 are similar to mine. But my dream is Honda 1000RR. always been a fan of fireblade.
The day i'll land my hands on my own fireblade, i will definatly remember you. COz, you have given the fuel to already burning desire.
              Saving starts now.
Thanks Sherry, its never too late...

                  Strider Bro,

I had to read the entire thread in a single go and that's why had to wait till I come back from office.

Anyone who aspires for a Super Bike and is in love with the One can relate with your passion and I for one, can easily visualize the universe of happiness and energy around you when you have when you first keyed the bike on and thumbed her to life. That sound of the exhaust, you getting astride her and that pull of the clutch and then that sense numbing THUD of the first gear, it all must have been like listening to the OM in middle of the milky way.

You made a jump from a Pulsar 180 to the Yammy and that's a very big decision to make. From that perspective I would be really interested to know how the ownership experience has been, like rides (both highway and traffic), how long it took you to get the actual hang of the throttle, the riding position, and above all how it was for you to live with this great responsibility over the year, coz as you said, when you owned her you were left with only ₹400 in your bank, so how has it been over the year with it's maintenance et al?

It felt so great to read your story and it felt so warm in this December chill

                  Happy Riding the One
Twist your wrist and feel the shift!!

                    Ajay,

I still do remember, years back when I met you first at Kanva dam ride. Akhil was there with his R1. While you were giving intro you told about your dream. That day to be honest, from inside a pray went to the God ...."God fills his dream".

And other day when got a call from you and you told about R1. I was as excited as you. Felt so happy for you my friend. And in my very bad time you are one of them who was beside me and tried to help me the way you could. Through this biking hobby got to know you and can proudly say that "YOU ARE A GOOD HUMAN BEING" which is matter to me.

                      Thanks Bro..
Well it was a fantastic feeling and frankly it is the same everyday I see my One, as if It is my first day on the R1...

Graduating from P180 to the R1 want really that difficult since my basics of riding never change...

P180 was a the bike i chose since it was the only bike at that time which had a 1down 4up gear shift(similar to the R1)..

Riding an SBK is about Throttle Control, Riding Posture and WARMING UP the TYRES...

Will talk more on the expenses later and a Ride and Ownership report is on its way

All the best and go flat out and Never Comprise even if the dream gets postponed, just dont abandon it...

not going to abandon it but am in a little confusion to either take a loan or not you see if i take a loan on 50% downpayment i will be able to book one 1 in 2012-13 but if i wait for the complete payment I might have to wait till 2014-15.... dont want to postpone it indefinitely.... and definitely it wont be a dream somewhere in the back of the head... it will come on the road....
