Very true, very true. They only notice ME sitting behind!!
Welcome to xBhp Angad, again :P

Indeed you have been an inseparable part of my pursuit, having listened to all my worries when things didn't look up and you still do...cant thank enough for that....

+1000 to that, in fact the ladies look at him(being the pillion), as I am too busy concentrating on the road and don't reciprocate to them...

    Indeed the Blade beckons...

PS: Now you know why I used to talk about Pizza Delivery on the R1

        R1 Updates

Just got the R1 serviced last week, here is a break-up of the service charges:

        Labour charges: 3500 INR
        Air Filter Assembly: 1700 INR
        Oil Filter: 650 INR
        Lubrication and Consumables: 300 INR

        Total Odo reading: 8800 kms

The Spark Plugs have to be replaced in the next service..

The battery has taken a toll since the fans run a lot in the city traffic, so currently saving the battery by having them disconnected

R1 is gonna be in hibernation mode for a couple of weeks...

Why do you ride in the city?

btw, if you mean you got the fans disconnected, then why not get a projector disconnected instead (like Akhil has).
Wouldn't disconnecting the fan be bad for the engine, in the city.

The pleasure is when your rear wheel slides, and you bring it back; and when the front wheel lifts, you take your time bringing it back.

I have disconnected the battery altogether, you should never disconnect the fans since they maintain the temperature of the coolant...

Disconnecting the headlight is an option..but I would rather ride with 2 lights so that no one shall mistake it for an R15...

PS: Not blessed like Akhil to have an office on Mysore road

I fail to understand. Disconnected the battery with what (projectors, radiator fan, etc)?

If I had my office on Mysore Road & an R1, I'd take a detour to Kanva, Maddur or Mandya daily before going to office.
                Wishful thinking you see.

                  inspiring story...

                  Dear Strider,

What an inspiring story! Read every post from starting to end till now. I am speechless buddy. And as sunny noted, it doesn't imply that superbiking is only the silver spoons!

Your story is a testament for it! Kudos, congrats, and my very best wishes. I mean, what an inspiring story. Man, you saved 800 bucks, left your bike and took public transportation? I can imagine your perseverance, and IRON WILLED dream.

Strider buddy, while you are happy to have the R1, let me add that it is that R1 that is luckier to have you as its owner. If your bike could talk, it will express how much it LOVES you. You earned it, over the years, heck, its like watching an epic movie, where the prince wins the king's daughter's heart

Your story will trigger the iron willed dream among all young bikers! Thank you for sharing them. My hearty wishes for you and your beauty. "two thumbs up"

                  cheers,

Is that to ensure the battery doesnt drain out? If yes, then there are other ways to keep the battery full of juice... like parking the bike in my place

Now I understand! So this is being so long as the bike is lying idle.
Have you thought of picking a battery charger?

                              • I was really inspired when by you I heard your story during the I-day ride last year. I didn't know the full story and missed this thread. Glad I read this today. You give a whole new meaning to the words patience and persieverance. I'm crazy about the 2004 Fireblade, but the same looks isn't continued nowadays. Of course, technology has improved by leaps and bounds and I still yearn to get it.

Dream of getting a sports bike had diminished, thanks to people around. Starting from:
                                1. Lakhs of rupees for a bike??? You are crazy dude!!
                                2. It's any day better to buy a car than a sports bike(bwahahaha....)
                                3. You seem to be very rich
                                4. Sports bike? You?? Yeah, right. All the best.

But, each time, I remember your story and get a boost to my dreams. I'll never let it fade away. Got my eyes on 2-3 bikes of different categories. I WILL get my bike, even if it is a few years down the line. Thank you again for the inspiring story All the very best for your future and ride safe!
