i get what you are saying tho..they cant compromise of perforrnance for looks and in todays bikes the looks/design contribute greatly to the performance if a bike is what u are attempting to say, I guess.

ducatis are not peaky engines mate ! And their forte is not straight line speed either..infact if they wanna make a bike faster in straight line they can have all the weight up high and everywhere. The twins are light and narrow so they do handle brilliantly at the track..and with the mass centralization bug bitten to them they will handle even better ! mass centralization aint for straight line speed..Originally posted by Samarth 619 View Post

@tenhut: Very well explained brother. Ducatis are indeed only track oriented.
@Samarth619: Agree with you on the RC8.
Even though, Ducati's engines don't have the peak performance in the straight line, you can actually feel the grunt around the corners. As it is known worldwide that these are track bred machines. You take any bike from Ducati's stable; you'll find a superbike character lying somewhere underneath.
And can someone please explain how I-4s have an advantage over V-twins or L-twins? Someone said so in one of the posts here.
However, I feel opposite. Since the V-twins/L-twins has a better ratio of weight to the bike geometry, it seems to me they are better suited to high performance. I would love to hear someone clarifying my doubts...

The articles are pretty interesting to read and I can now see why some guys prefer Ducatis.
I have no SBK experience.... But thanks to the articles, I cannot even begin to imagine the kind of mad rush an I-4 would provide when you crack open its throttle.
To the guys with I4's... how do you control yourself? The temptation must be overwhelming!sigpic

meh. straight line speed only gives you thrills for so long. i remember the first time i had the zx10 at redlining at full throttle through the gears on the track straight. it was a mad rush and i could barely hold on for dear life.
now its probably the most boring section of the track comparatively (but still fun :P) and im more concenterating on where my braking marker is for the corner at the end of the straight.

or.... jap crap !!!
ha ha.... in tenhuts words flame me, sue me, screw me ... ha ha !!
was just kidding guys. i think the more we analyse, the more we move away from enjoying what motorcycles were made for. all the bikes out there are so damn good... and with no disrespect to any one...... is so much better than an average rider. they have such immense power that u will be in deap shit , it the bike checks something the riders skills cant handle.
i would never say a twin is better than an I-4 or a V-4 , for me they are all bikes and i would love to own all of them and am sure i would fall in love with each and every one of them ( yes i am a slut !! )
cant wait to buy an I-4, every time i see a cbr on the road, i stop and stare.
ok , now that i have put my 0.2$ , lets get back to the topic of discussion... what was is it about again ?drive safely... if not for you then for the sake of others!!
