But physically it is identical in size to the GT650R..!!! And that according to me would be the USP of the GT250R. i.e. a Big Bike/Superbike looks at around 2.5 Lakhs.

When GT650R was launched, i thought it would not have many takers because of its quality issues, but it did find a lot of takers... and the same way a lot of people who want to buy a litre class bike might want to buy a GT250R for learning...
And people who want a sporty twin cylinder which doesn't burn a hole in your pocket, would love this bike...

And people like me who are not rich enough to buy a Baby Ninja and cant be satisfied by anything but the best 250cc in the world, will wait for Kawa to start production here and decrease prices

I remember how the GT650R was a traffic signal magnet because of its big bike looks.. the GT250R being identical will garner same eyeballs.

Last Year the GT250R recieved quite some negative remarks from magazines world over for the quality, vibrations and not being able to throw in all the horses on the road.
Is this the 2012 version or are they selling us the older models now?

          Somethings to ponder about:
How will Hyosung sell this thing with their limited dealership in this country?
Would the spares be affordable or will it be just another Ninja where the initial cost is managable but the cost of ownership and spare parts blow a hole in ur pocket?

Its a decently specced bike. rode one overseas. But hyosung needs to get its fit and finish in place. its very poorly put together just like the bigger 650's.

I don't know what all this hoopla is all about. I did some simple math and found out that the power to weight ratio of the GT250R is EXACTLY THE SAME AS Pulsar 220 DTSi! Both are oil cooled, carburreted and have 5 gears! Why does this cost 3 times as much (going by MG's post)? (And please don't answer this with "This is a twin cylinder!!" I am comparing it with a soon to be 'old gen' bike for heaven's sake!!)

              For the curious reader:
              Pulsar 220 : 21 Hp/152Kg = 138.15 hp/tonne
              GT250R : 26 Hp/188Kg = 138.29 hp/tonne

So there is a 0.1% difference in P2W ratios. Good luck to everyone who wishes to pay 1.4 lac extra for half a fairing and an extra disc brake up front. I really hope Hyosung realizes this isn't 2005 and bring in something actually relevant in 2012.
Advice is a form of nostalgia.
Dispensing it is a way of fishing the past from the disposal, wiping it off, painting over the ugly parts and recycling it for more than it's worth.

Good observation..I bet the naked version will be better off and more bang for the buck.Btw,Im glad the graphics look mature and not like the ones on the 650

Whoa, above 2 lakhs for a bike with carb and 5 speed is too much. From specs it is not worthy. But big bike looks surely will find some owners.Hope hyosung gives price worthy features.Hyosung got a killer pricing for 650N(with discount).Hope they will replicate it here.I am not sure NINJA buyers will look to this as from reviews ninja is way superior in handling.According to wiki this bike has top speed of 175kmph and FI is introduced in 2010 in brazilian market.Anyway good to hear the competition is growing and according to reports this bike may be launched by end of march.

Sits between the CBR and Ninja, in terms of specs more than the CBR, infact almost gives what Ninja gives for the price of the CBR!

Could this be the Hyundai of Motorcycling?
                    Well said..
                    Looks good..
But is it the air cooled carb? Just keen to know!

It cannot be compared with P200NS / KTM. They are completely 'completely' different but what I can say is that it will be slower than KTM in ouright acceleration

I guess India is finally getting gt250r from Hyosung but I would definitely suggest not to expect too much in terms of outright performance.

Nepal has its official showroom from Hyosung and they have been selling all the bikes. Its very much as said in the motorcyclist magazine in page 2. Also I guess India will also get the new efi version instead of carb one.
