@Sandman_Sd: I hope you're fine. It's sad to see The One in such a state. Hope it comes back to life real soon!

Regarding the parts, Since the bike is more than 3 years old I suppose you might not be having zero depreciation insurance. Hope you'll get good insurance cover on all parts with the normal insurance.

Keep postin' pictures as they speak a lot, if things were my way, i would track that driver & bam, bam, BAM!!! wish to see your goddess up & runnin' soon. BTW she's gotta name yet?
Thanks chaosaddict. I am back to normal and was back to riding my Pulsar the very day of the accident itself. What can i say? Bikes are in my DNA :P In terms of a name, havent come up with anything cool, I just call the R1 my mistress (cause she is high maintenance but will thrill you to the edge of life itself) and my P220 as my wife (very dependable and never complaining )

Try your search on Ebay.com and Ebay.co.uk and if you have contacts abroad ask them to carry it to India for you. The difference in expenses will be huge.
KRP and my search is focused on finding used parts, if we dont find them on used bikes in India, I will go the US route as I dont have many contacts in UK

Yeah! Insurance is a major problem, since it is actually a 5 year old model (2008 manufactured and registered), so the insurance cover is not very comprehensive. Wanted to take a zero dep insurance, but they dont do zero dep for models older than 3 years and definitely not for super bikes in India which are that old

Get a chinese fairing kit for your bike in whatever color you desire. It ll cost you around 500 $ plus shipping. Let me see if i can find the source I used back in the days to get one for a friend and i ll revert. The forks look okay. what else is damaged ?

The crank case cover, the RHS headlight, the brake lever, the throttle lever, rear brake pedal, the RHS footrest, the RHS pillion footrest... and the list goes on The fork bend is not visible in the pictures, but is very evident when rolling the bike

This is especially important when you drive in the sub-100 to 150 range as a lot of people have the tendency to want to race a superbike and will end up shadowing you

Oww, that is some bad damage to the bike
Reading thru the prev posts on how it happened, and referring back to your very first post where you have mentioned the braking and ppl getting too close behind you.. makes sense now.

Just Get well and hope for the beauty to rule the roads AGAIN ..

A very good afternoon to all my mates.
Its very disheartening to see a beauty (mistress as sir calls it) to be in such a shape, and being an automobile engineer increases this pain to 10 folds. Sir, please let me know if i could be of any help to you regarding sourcing of parts from US. For my university project (FSAE competition) we, had ordered a used yamaha R6 engine from the states. All in all we had to pay 1.5 lakh for the used engine that had all wiring, exhaust, ECU, sensors, etc. If required, i can send you the contact details of the person so that you can order used parts for you liter class Yamaha from him.

                Thanks

I wish it was just a case of me braking, but since I never saw him in my rear view mirrors, I think its more a case of him driving in from my blind spot....Oh! Well no point dissecting the past, whats done is done, now just waiting for my baby to return in her new avatar

Thanks for the wishes.... Usually I dont agree with gfs :P but in this case, will agree that you will get it in your own time, and believe me I had so many detractors since I was 25 who wanted me to buy a car including exes (You guys can guess why they are exes ) and the moment you start her for the first time, and take a ride, the very first time you countersteer at a corner and you are truly ready to forgive the bad wishers

Thanks for the wishes and the support S.I.N.G.H, i have already sourced most of the parts, the only part we are waiting for is the steering column bracket which is stuck in Singapore and will take at least 2 more weeks before it lands here This is also the one part that I am wary of buying used as it is the single point connection between the front fairing and the chassis of the bike and a weak one could really show its true colors at high speed..... But truly do appreciate your offer

Always the best option, repairing a bend fork is almost end up with no good result, there will always be that small defect which bugs you while riding, and that is not worth it , really, on a sbk its even worse.

Glad that everything is falling into place..!!! Best wishes again..!!
