Though the engine config is the same, the two engines are very different. The Daytona is tuned for more top end. The bore x stroke dimensions are different, the Daytona runs dual injectors, as compared to single on the Street. Also, I think the Daytona features slipper clutch as std, while the Street does not.Originally posted by Legend Racer View Postbut this Help Me Choose - Decide on Your Next Bike | Triumph Motorcycles shows that bore and stroke are different though same cc... is the exhaust sound same on both? whats the price difference between these 2?
Exhaust note is different as well. The Street is softer, while the Daytona has a deeper growl. Check youtube for stock sounds. There's one video, direct comparison b/w Street and Daytona, by 1000PS channel. The video is in German though
Price difference b/w the Std Street and Std Daytona is about 3L, 1.5 more for the Daytona R

Re: Third Time Lucky : Triumph Daytona 675 Ownership Review
I dont see any advantages of the R over the standard Daytona unless you want to track the bike. Ohlins suspension and quick shifter on the R is definitely a great track upgrade. everything else is the same. But adding all those upgrades on the standard daytona is going to cost much more. So if money is no object, get the R I guess. In my case, taking up track days wasnt a major consideration. An odd track day here and mostly street riding.

Carlitos Thanks for the help brother. The problem is traffic sense and civic sense in Hyderabad are in a pathetic condition and this leads to so many accidents at a time, I was about to buy a Suzuki Hayabusa but was completely shocked and taken aback when I witnessed the horrible traffic in the city and had to drop the idea or plans of buying a Hayabusa:banghead:.Originally posted by Carlitos View PostI dont see any advantages of the R over the standard Daytona unless you want to track the bike. I am glad and happy that Triumph launched its motorcycles at the right time or moment in India

Re: Third Time Lucky : Triumph Daytona 675 Ownership Review
Help required: Am planning to get the R version in less than an year, but my concern is R version is selling 14lakhs on the road and 1.5l less for the non R model. But I can get a CBR 1000rr or the gixxer or zx10r for 17.5lakh on road. My confusion is whether to save up a little more for the litre class or go with the Daytona?? Or is there any other option which doesn't make me feel that am paying too high for a bike?? Disadvantages of owning a litre class??
P.s. I have no experience in riding a vehicle of more than 200cc and once I get a superbike, planning to hold on to it for a period close to 10years.Last edited by Srinivaas; 06-13-2014, 12:30 AM.

Well, its kind of hard for me to answer those questions for you.Originally posted by Srinivaas View PostHelp required: Am planning to get the R version in less than an year, but my concern is R version is selling 14lakhs on the road and 1.5l less for the non R model. I wouldnt say there are any disadvantages of owning a liter class bike. Even the 600 cc class is more power than most of us can come close to utilizing to the fullest. Import motorcycles will cost quite a bit regardless of the engine size. I'd suggest evaluating what you really want out of a motorcycle, and make up your mind. Obviously a liter class bike will have more power, but it will also be heavier compared to a 600 cc class super sport. Think about what you will use your motorcycle for. Touring, weekend rides, commuting, track days etc. Be comfortable with the amount you want to spend. There is a big difference between 12.5 lakhs and 17.5 lakhs, regardless of how long you intend to hold on to it. A couple more lakhs could get you a S1000RR maybe...but that doesnt mean its a better investment.
If you have noticed, most of the people on this forum, have evaluated what they intend to do with their bikes and short listed a few bikes...and then made their decision. So try to evaluate in a similar fashion. Good luck" RIDE In Peace MARCO #58"

Re: Third Time Lucky : Triumph Daytona 675 Ownership Review
Don't worry about the color man. I never preferred black bikes, got a great deal on this one, so I picked it up. Its not like I don't like black, but in general I prefer bikes that can be easily noticed in traffic day or night. So more of a safety thing. If you can afford the R, go for it. I dint see a reason to get the R, since it seemed overkill for my intended use. Good luckOriginally posted by Srinivaas View PostMate this ain't right

Re: Third Time Lucky : Triumph Daytona 675 Ownership Review
My manual says (R+M)/2 of 89 or higher. I have always been using fuel with (R+M)/2 of 91 which is the highest available in most fuel stations here in the US. Wouldnt want to take a chance with fuel quality. So have always used the top rated fuel I can find. I believe (R+M)/2 of 91 equals 95 RON.Originally posted by rajk727 View PostHi Carlitos
Is there any speciality in the fuel that you use in the bike? Heard that there is a requirement of 95RON petrol. Is that true?
(R+M)/2 is RON +MON rating divided by 2." RIDE In Peace MARCO #58"
